I remember saying I thought he would be long odds to be at Manly in 2019 and nothing has changed my mind. Manly did shop Taupau mid-year but due to his hefty price tag, a deal could not be struct with a rival club. It'll be struck sooner or later. It's just a matter of when. I heard he didn't get on with Baz and there were concerns about him following game plans etc. so the club shopped him.

I can understand at first glance why that seems like madness but I don't think he is a loss that cannot be replaced. As others have mentioned, no nonsense props worth less money can get the job done. He is expensive, not a great defender, makes errors at crucial stages of games and is doesn't appear to harmonise with others.

I'd like a prop worth 500k that just tucks the ball under, runs hard and gets up to play the ball quickly.

Kapow is one of our most consistent performers. I think he has played every round, which is a great achievement for a prop. And he's shown discipline to not be suspended, as in previous years.
He would be sorely missed if he were to leave.

I can handle Marty going when we're paying him 900,000 next season.

If he goes then i don't think we can be any worse off than we already are anyway. The club is a **** fight at the moment and the only worse thing that can happen is if we get the wooden spoon next year. By Marty leaving i don't think that can happen due to just that anyway. I agree with what you said and to add to that we need to clear out dead wood and purely start again. No use being there if he don't want to. A lot of players at the moment are saying in the media that they want to remain but i am not buying it until beginning of next season.

Yea he has been good of late and i do believe he has improved his handling skills somewhat.I don't really want him to go because he does give Manly that robust performance on a whole but at the same time if he must he must.
