Interesting to see who is selected next game. I don't think we had any injuries and Paseka returned in reserves today. Usually Sipley would be the one to drop out for Paseka, but maybe ... Keppie to get the reserve grade rev up this time?

It was a great day for us Manly people today

We honoured our Golden Eagles with a big win

It was a privilege for me to be at the Golden Eagles function that started at the Leagues club and we marched along side by side with all the Manly Greats to 4 Pines Park for the game

Congratulations to the Golden Eagle and Premiership winning Mark Bryant for his great work in organising such a great event that honours our past great players and our proud History

We needed a big win to get our confidence back and we got one

Some may say that the Warriors did not play well

I say they only played as well as we allowed them to

I thought that was a fantastic performance!!

Before anyone says The Warriors are rubbish, they've been losing, but have been right in the games against the best teams. At least give us some credit there. We were physical, aggressive, and at speed that first half. We beat the crap out of the Warriors.

For those giving Schuster some criticism, I felt he picked his moments really well. I loved his play. He bamboozles the opposition. His fitness didn't seem a thing tonight.

Davey, Taupau, Olakau'atu, Sipley, Keppie, Aloiai - collectively tip your hats ! FINE performances. But most importantly, Jake, take a bow - what a class / mint attitude - wish he could stay on as captain.

As a whole, I felt we ran much more direct without DCE, and our direction was much better with Foz as the navigator / driver.

As a side note, not sure who Bullemor / Paseka usurp after that winning performance? Surely you can't drop anyone?
I profoundly disagree with your second paragraph Ryan. Warriors are rubbish and have been all year. They have won 2 games by a pt and barely beat the tigers in another game. Their one win of note was against the broncos amidst the broncs losing games and I watched that game it was diabolical. They have also lost to the knights, dragons twice and titans. They will go close to getting the spoon this year. In fact if they played the dogs next week they’d likely lose.

In saying that I like the rest of your post. Just don’t agree on your assessment of our opposition tonight - and I watch them most every weekend with my brother.

Ps told ya that bet was never in danger.

Hahaha, you did, mate 🙂 Woodsie saying I was a numbnut to think otherwise inspired the bet haha

Yeah I agree, blokes I know that have been thick and thin with the Warriors since 95 don’t even bother watching them now. My best mate shut it down when they signed Lodge, and the debacle of Lodges exit has cost them a mountain of fans

Helps when the opposition's middle defence was soft ,kicking from warrior's 40m not our own ,heaps of possession , tonight's game was won through the middle I don't think it's a game you can throw in Cherry's face
I hope our skipper was watching and sees how much better we function with quick direct passing and running at the line. Foz is the much better gane manager, he just doesn't quite have Daly's long kicking game.

4 forwards broke 100m, makes a huge difference.

Good win, crap opposition, but we had been rubbish leading into the game so it could have easily gone either way.

GO MANL

Happy to get the win.
Happy to get the 2 points.
Happy to wipe 32 points from our F&A.
Happy to come away injury free.
Not getting to carried away given the quality of the opposition, hopefully it brings the boys some joy and a positive week to build on, need to back up against the Tigpies, back to back wins going into the cowboys keeps us in touch with the 8 and gives us some momentum and self belief to have a real dig at the cows.

Foran is value for money this year in demonstrating by example exactly what Schu has to do in order to do the job he wants. Initially I hoped we'd keep Foz for one more year but I can't begrudge him a 2 year deal elsewhere, it would have been a mistake for us to offer him 2 years.
Not if we'd made the sensible decision and offloaded the $1mil myth. Imagine the quality centers we could buy with an extra $1mil in the kit.

It was a privilege for me to be at the Golden Eagles function that started at the Leagues club and we marched along side by side with all the Manly Greats to lottoland for the game
Lottoland?

Where is that?

I thought they went to 4 Pines Park. 😛

I know it's harsh - but we were steered around the park in a much more direct and confident manner don't you think? I thought our backrowers got the ball faster (BOTH Davey and Olakau'atu). Meant we got a roll on much more efficiently, and that's mostly been our problem.

We've seen the performance mate, and I really don't think it's something we can ignore. We seemed a MUCH more efficient, and well oiled machine, with much, MUCH less breakdowns in play and momentum.

Just my opinion.

Aside from schus errors the attack looked significantly better at times. The main thing missing was DCE’s far superior long kicking game. Neither schu or foz have a long boot on them.

One injury was that Lawton went off in the last 5 minutes with a knee injury (right in front of me) but he wasn't limping...it didn't seem too bad.

Very relieving win. Has been a tough last 3 weeks, lot of people have written off our top 8 chances. Looking at our draw and the draw of the other fringe 8 teams, i think it really will come down to the later rounds. We just have to keep winning the games we are supposed to win, simply just stay flat track bullying.

Was our best win of the year, nobody really had a 5/10 or below typa performance. Everyone did their job and did it really well. That first half was just relentless Manly footy that reminded me of last year. Reminding people that even though turbo is gone, we have too much strike power in the rest of the team to not be playing finals footy.
