The dragons statement calls it a biosecurity breach, so there must have been others there. If not I don’t see why it would be called that?
It would be because the lockdown means they shouldn't have been at the house. Whether for a party a catch up or just a bun.

True, the 5 person limit went out with lockdown right? Including shellharbour LGA

Exactly. Shellharbour shouldn’t have been added to the Greater Sydney restrictions to begin with - there was a whole saga that unfolded on Saturday afternoon with the Kiama local MP spreading misinformation all over social media, then going to the health minister to get the risk assessment redone to save his own embarrassment. Which has plenty of people down here well p*ssed off to begin with, without a bunch of entitled louts who work and socialise (and in some cases live) in actual hotspots putting the whole bloody thing at risk of being extended.

Is Gareth Ward still the MP.

He's an interesting fellow, both in New York and Australia.

Yeah, he is. And the culprit I was referring to.

And there was a sob story in the paper the other day about how the businesses in Kiama and Shoalhaven LGAs are suffering because of the lockdown - well, they can place that squarely on Ward. If he hadn’t dropped 74000 extra people in it because his reading comprehension skills aren’t great, there would’ve been plenty of Shellharbour residents happy to go south to spend their $$$.

The only difference is they didn't mix with anyone outside the bubble? So I am thinking if that is the case that the 14 days of quarantine doesn't get invoked.
Most reports are Vaughan’s wife was there ( apparently not part of the NRL bubble), other reports are there were others there including women that did the bolt when the cops came.
The NRL bubble is such that they can train, play or get household essentials otherwise stay home.
For the NRL to be seen to be fair dinkum surely a 14 day stand down is on the cards especially if others were there.

Manly may "covid bonus" their way to the Gf...!

Such idiots.

However, if you were a player not at the party are you:

a) Happy you obeyed covid restrictions, or
b) A little bit sad your team mates had a big party and you weren't invited?

If players are stood down, say for two games, can the club take 2 games worth of contract payments from the players? (my guess is nope).

Often in the NHL if you're suspended, the pro-rata amount of your contract is taken from you and put into the players welfare fund.

Apparently there were 4 other people, not players, fined & told to go home! That to me is mixing with people outside the bubble.
yes not sure - hope that is true because then they will have to quarantine. But from this mornings stories online it seems those 4 were actually players?

Roosters play the dogs next week so for and against is still an issue for us. Hopefully we can get a good win against the faders and a huge win against the merge.
We’re +55 over the Roosters???
That’s nothing these days MM

That is simply not credible. Surely all players who attended the Dragon party will have to isolate for 14 days and cop various fines as punishment. Vaughn should get a harsher punishment. The club might even cop a huge fine too.
Neighbours say they saw women running down the street when the Police arrived.... no mention so far in the news reports of any other women........ Vaughan will get $30k I guess - club might get a $50k - I think the Bulldogs copped $50k partially because they didn't inform the players properly apparently. I am guessing the players wont be able to hide behind that with St George but with a dozen players involved the club will get a whack. Players will all cop fines - but I want them to miss at least one game as well - would be great hopefully for our for and against.

We are, but we're still on equal competition points so we need to keep the foot down

When the fines are handed down, I reckon the teammates that weren’t invited / did not attend will be pretty happy they weren’t there!

I reckon you are being generous with your estimates. If Dugan got $50k, Vaughan is in line for at least that. I’d expect the club to cop at least a 6 figure fine (partly suspended).

The punishment just has to be severe so that it acts as a sufficient deterrent. If it means spurning the Dragon’s finals ambitions, so be it. There is a lot more at stake.

Dugan got a $25K fine, whilst the Dogs club got $50K.

Vaughan and his club should get double that.

This is a very serious breach indeed. Not just one block head being self entitled but shortly after the Bulldogs incident a large number of first graders that have effectively given the bird to the NRL and the Gov't. The NRL has no choice but to send a very strong message to the rest of the NRL squads. I expect all players to be required to go into isolation for 14 days and big fines.
