I can't see how there won't be big fines and suspensions for the players involved.

If the NRL waves it through, they are just giving the green light to other players and clubs to disregard the NRL's biosecurity rules and the government's lockdowns. So sure, the need to quarantine may not be there if it was only players from within the bubble there, but the NRL is going to have to sufficiently deter others.

Not to mention the NRL will need to convince the governments that they are worthy of their continued support and special exemptions.

More than anything, it's about the NRL's reputation as an organisation that represents to state governments that it deserves special treatment because it goes above and beyond from a bio-security perspective.

I agree but the dog players didn't actually get suspended they had to isolate for 14 days as they were in a hot spot and close contact. NRL didn't actually suspend them.

That said they should be stood down regardless for 2 weeks.

You are probably right but imagine if this was our players all suspended for at least 2 weeks. Just does not sit right with me that the dragons players are going to get off relatively easy for this.

Normal people aren't allowed anyone in their homes, other than certain exceptions. Visitors/everyone are supposed to stay at home.

The only way the wont be suspended is if they get $50k fines each but ... if the NRL is serious and fair and above reproach they will get a $10k fine each and 2 weeks suspension. Vaughan will get a $30k fine either way
