He was really good. Short on match fitness and looks to be at his heaviest playing weight but he kept going and always looked threatening.
Once we get both Tom and Haumole back, the 3 of them are going to absolutely kill it.

His connection with tuipolotu will only get better. Half a metre deeper and tui goes over for 2 untouched tries. Can't wait to see him fully fit and going! Manlys attack has definitely missed him this year.

Agree Schuster makes the left attacking edge lethal, the Tippytoes try was some good work from Schuster, not bad for a youngster having his first run in almost 7 months.

My first thought was there is a farmer missing a sheep (possibly two).
I didn’t think he’d last as long, or have the impact that he did. But he did, with a massive dose of enthusiasm.
Once he gets match fit, and injury free……farkn look out!

Kinda sad that fans still poking fun of his weight. Did people already forget how he looked last year? He's lost a considerable amount of weight, looks much leaner and sharper this time around. Match fitness wasn't there because he pretty much hasn't had a preseason. But man he was still so dangerous and silky, such a treat to watch, we are so lucky to have him. Just imagine our full strength side with Schu, Turbo, Foz, DCE, Haumole, Koula, Garrick, Tui, Aloiai, Walker.... we are STACKEDDDDD with X factor.

He’s been made to bulk up for the backrow role he plays BUT I can’t wait to see what he’s capable of when he trims back down to play the 6.

Come on Des… start the transition from Foz to Schu.
When Walker is gone, I’d be moving Foz to the 14 role.

I am too, just don't know if the rest of the team will keep up with him. Less structure than Foran but will give us the X factor we crave. Although we need Foran at 6 we also need Schuster at 6. Probably need Foran to have a 2 week spell so us couch coaches can decide.

Yep I tend to agree. Jake doesn’t offer enough in attack playing in the #13. He’s arguably our best defender and makes plenty of metres, when he just concentrates on hitting it up. That’s a role for a Prop. Schuster is so good, he could play Just about anywhere and have an impact. I’m sure in his mind (and his dopey manager’s) he’s a natural #6 and would be very good if given a shot there. However, he needs to appreciate the teams needs must come first.
Jake’s integral to the team and is on big money. He could easily make the shift to play Prop which opens up #13. Schuster would be a great fit in the #13 and before long could easily establish himself as the best in that position. Better that Yeo and Murray.

But just imagine Turbo, Koula, Saab, Tui, Garrick all running off him. That’s some real fire power for him to link up with.

Not to mention Olaka’atu and Tuilagi as weapons on the edges.

I think the issue for Koula and Saab is that they’re not on Foran/Schusters side.All the big backline plays of late have come down Foran’s side with the slowest centre Parker.Koula hasn’t seen much space and he’s basically playing Parker’s role of barging it up

can’t demand to play 5/8 when he currently would struggle to get anywhere near playing 80mins.

I’m not into players having to look like robots with the same body shape, he is clearly always going to be a bigger unit, I’ve give him leeway as it was an injury that kept him off his feet and he will run himself back into match fitness

Yeah I noticed that. At the end of the day, what Foran brings is more important than any other commodity we currently have in the side; competitiveness. He was possessed last night and did the jersey prouder than any player has thus far in 2022. All I ever want to see if commitment and effort from the team and Foran led from the front with those qualities.
