I don't agree that Foran controls games. at least not week in week out.....he's a guy with a big heart & puts his body on the line 100%, does a lot of the 1% plays, i agree, but doesn't possess anything Smith or Cronk can do by way of controlling a match. His kicking game is limited to kicks near the line, his main offensive play is short blind side movements, i don;t see much from him when his side has the open side backline. i also think DCE has struck a lot more times when we needed it most.

What people may not agree with is Foz becomes more noticable/works harder, when we are chasing a team. This goes missing when we are not chasing, probably because DCE is controlling it all. DCE is playing the same whether 10 in front or 10 behind.

Would take Foran over DCE every time.
Foran is pure natural talent ,which doesn't come around too often.
When DCE has his confidence running high ,there is no one better.
The problem being ,He can be way more streaky than Foran .
And Foran doesn't have the brain explosions like DCE can occasionally have.
Foran also gets the points in the toughness dept.

Yeah I tend to agree with Robbiea; I think DCE is great when things are going his way, but Foz is the better competitor and a better character...he is tough and a real champion, whereas DCE is a bit of a princess

If the papers are to be believed Foran is the princess on the training paddock. He's the one wanting upgrades to our facilities and more back room staff.

With due respect how would you know what DCE's character is? If DCE is a princess I'll take 13 princesses in my team.

If Foz is seeking the club to have more staff to help the team that is not necessarily an unfair thing to ask, Souffs, the Rorters and dogs all have bigger teams of staff than we do so before we judge that maybe there could be some merit in what hes asking for.

The thing that I haven't heard many people consider is the character of the two. Previously I preferred Foz as I thought DCE was a bit of a "me me me" player. After all the contract talk, which seems to be Foz doing and saying anything to get more money from the club even at the expense of team harmony, and his reaction to the Gift and Choc piece I am starting to think he may the diva as DCE has been relatively quiet on the whole matter.

agree, there were some brain explosions from DCE this year, i would let out an expletive, but he was never quiet/uninvolved in matches which i think Foran can tend to be...

I've always said that about Foran, he can phase in and out of matches. Cronk, Thurston, Smith, and even DCE don't EVER do that

As for DCE being a princess...geeeeez...fair dinkum.

Wow, we must have really been going ****house over over the past five years for Foz to think that we are behind other clubs when it comes to ancillary staff, and the slime and the great Brad Arthur are something that we have to emulate.

DCE is Priceless and Foran is Fantastic and they both play for the Sensational Sea eagles !!!

I am just going off the way he talks in the media. He is very clean cut and almost feminine in the way he nods his head and talks in his soft little fairy voice. He is a great footballer and i'd love to keep him, but Foran is a hard bastard and I would take him over DCE...that's just my opinion; I respect those who disagree.

I also think there is the element of bias towards Foran because I really loved the senior playing group and Foran came along first and really bought into the culture of the club and clicked with our power players. He loves Choc, Gift, Snake, Skivvy, and co. and they are god like in my eyes, so I have a soft spot for Foz for that reason also.

“There have been rumours and I’m sure that will continue until I sign with someone. But I am enjoying the process of the contract negotiations.”

I rest my case.

What sort of personal enjoyment does one get from a negotiation process? It's not a ride in an amusement park....give me Foz anyday!

Just a little off topic but i just got 6 month ban from LU i was giving natheel on there too much of hammering. Oh well my wife will be happy.

Im sure I'd enjoy a few teams throwing 6 if not 7 figure deals my way @;)

I can kind of understand where you are coming from. You're right, Foran is extremely tough and has a great work ethic and will to win, he put's in the big hits, leads the line and kick chases etc and I can see to some why that makes him more popular with some fans like yourself. Truth is that's why we all love him and makes him somewhat unique as a half. And of course DCE doesn't make an impact that way, he does it through flair, and so it's easier to label him as the 'princess' of the two.

But that's a big exaggeration. DCE actually made 516 tackles last year compared to Foz's 334. So he isn't afraid to work hard and get stuck in.

But hey, we all have our personal favourites throughout the entire team not just the halves and each one of them would be justifiable one way or another, and obviously we'd prioritise them staying over others which I don't blame you for. IF we lose one will still have a brilliant half left. We may still keep both. Here's hoping!

Hello my feathered friends.

After a few years of reading I'm finally going to post something....no better place than in this thread that seems eternal.

I live quite close to Des and try to give him the finger whenever I see him, always with a smile on my face though.

League: Joining Warriors would be 'big call' - Foran
Sat, 31 Jan 2015
- By David Skipwith of the New Zealand Herald

Manly and Kiwis five-eighth Kieran Foran admits the prospect of joining the Warriors would be a big call but the club remain determined to move heaven and earth to sign him for 2016.

The 24-year-old is off contract at the Sydney club at the end of the season but is taking his time to consider several offers from the Sea Eagles and other rival clubs, including the Warriors, Eels, Roosters and Bulldogs.

"To be honest, it is a bigger call to move home here," Foran explained during yesterday's NRL Auckland Nines fan day at Aotea Square. "I'm not ruling anything out but it would be a bigger call to come back here, seeing as we've just had a young baby last year and we're pretty set up in Sydney at the moment.

"It's our first child and we're really enjoying living on the northern beaches at the moment. It's going really good but every option is an option at this stage. I'm still undecided at this point. I'm just working through the process with my manager and trying to get down closer to a decision."
