The Daly Cherrygraph

I give up, reading some of these comments is doing my head in, for a start Manly withdrew their offer so he had no choice but to accept the Gold Coast.
Hooker, seriously?, now I've heard everything
They withdrew the offer because he was playing Manly off against the Titans for more money .....sounds like blackmail
If he wants a future as a play making half he has to make it work with his opposite half

To quote Scott Penn after they knocked the original DCE contract in November:
"We will have both our halves signed by Christmas".
So really it should start becoming obvious as to where the blame should be pointed.
Not saying Penn and co are blameless. They most certainly carry a huge part of the blame. And iv said in other threads this will go down as the worst mistake/contract in our history.

But no one put a gun to his head to sign. Big contracts= big responsibility/accountability.

They withdrew the 800K offer because they had just bought out Quantum and wanted to keep foran. Then offered him less, then when he wanted to talk about it they said sorry the offer has expired, you are free to look elsewhere.

Why are you so obsessed with the money? Are you Choc?
No I’m not mate, hope that cleared that up for you..

It’s about how sh!t he is buddy, what don’t you get about that? Right now he plays like he’s on 100k, yet we pay over 1 mil. Not exactly value for money. Or are you happy with sitting 3rd last on the table? Is it all his fault? No, but as the captain and highest payed player he gets the largest amount of criticism..

He got paid the same last year and we finished on 32 points.
So your saying that was all him?

Do you see my point?
The money does not matter. this is a team game, without a decent halves partner for the star, teams go bad. Add in not continuity due to a massive injury toll and teams go bad.

Last year was down to having a decent 6- green. We couldn’t AFFORD to keep him. See my point? He takes over 10% of our cap. On top of that, he plays like sh!t. So it’s about value for money, which we aren’t getting. Because he takes so much of the cap we can’t afford other quality players to put around him. Instead we rely on journeyman and youngsters to step up, when they don’t we are fu$ked.

Sure, we’ve had injuries but so has Panthers and look at where they are. There not paying there marquee players as much AND they perform. Meaning quality halves with good solid players around them and depth..

Interesting to see how that works for the Panthers when they have to upgrade Cleary ..... then it wont be all beer and skittles.

Could not afford green but went hard for Pearce. Only for the NRL to fine the club.
I don't see how that works about not affording green.
Not afford green and Pearce maybe.

Couldn’t afford either. We are in salary cap trouble without either of them on the books. Could only afford Green on his 2016 wage. To sign Pearce I have no doubt we would have unloaded players to get him..
