The Daly Cherrygraph

This threat is doing my head in. I go to work to be paid. If I was offered big dollars to change jobs I would do would you. So what’s the issue
I bet at your job there is an expectation to perform.

At my job if I don’t perform I’m told to pull my head in, if I don’t I’m fu$king gone..

Interesting to see how that works for the Panthers when they have to upgrade Cleary ..... then it wont be all beer and skittles.
Cleary will get a million, and maloney on about 750k is a good price. I do wonder what they are paying the rest, some quality in that team.

Manly haven't managed their cap well at all.

Well good for you.

If you are in a job where you can be easily replaced then that's your cross to bear.

NRL halfbacks who have won premierships, Clive Churchill medals etc are not so easily replaced. As much as some experts claim.

A form slump is temporary. Class is not.

The best players go through slumps. All of them.

With all due respect, anyone who thinks our situation is because of DCE is kidding.

Got a bigger offer and left

So you bag DCE relentlessly but with Green it’s a meh, got a bigger offer and left!
He was contracted to us and was on good coin nearing the end of his career. Regardless of what we could/would/did offer him for 2019 and beyond he was ours - would you have offered the three year deal that the Warriors did?
Green has had his share of clubs and I doubt that’s because of his desire to see new places- he’s a professional footballer and is perhaps more mercenary than what you paint DCE to be.

i think it was a dog act from Green. But this isn’t the green thread this is the Dce thread..

Ahhhh no. Again.
I’m in a job that if I fu$k up, there a very serious and real consequences, not easily replaced at all.

Hahahahahahahahahaha class and Moneyball Evans is the same sentence. Great stuff.

Anyone who thinks sitting 3rd last is acceptable and doesn’t lay any blame on the captain and highest money earner has no idea at all.

I go for fuc$ing MANLY, not Moneyball Evans. Until he steps up or is fuc$ed off I’ll be forever questioning his form and motives.

Can’t kick, can’t manage a team, can’t play. Moneyball Evans..

Not religious at all but I feel this applies:

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

People getting their panties in a bunch surely just makes you unhappy and further entrenched in a view that you’re just going to have to live with. There are a lot of very polarized people on here that just ignore the good things about DCE and fixate on his contract.

There are a lot of people not playing to the value of their contracts. Our club will look quite different when we aren’t paying Myles, we cut Hastings and plod and we don’t have a salary cap penalty. Those two things alone pay for a quality number 6 or 7 in the organizing mold. DCE is a game breaker and a quality player. He has X factor. He showed that in 2 grand finals. He is the type of player you need. He needs an organizer next to him.

By the same token look at Foran. Without an X factor player next to him he’s done **** all since he left manly

tis a good point. Most halves struggle on their own and need to form a good halves pairing.

Thurston achieved nothing prior to Morgan and also Coote outside of rep games when he had the best alongside. He also didn't go well with DCE as a pair they don't combine.

Couldn't agree more, this is so right!

Green was a scumbag who held the club to ransom looking for a release. He screwed the club and should be treated with the contempt he deserves.

Couldn’t afford either. We are in salary cap trouble without either of them on the books. Could only afford Green on his 2016 wage. To sign Pearce I have no doubt we would have unloaded players to get him..

Hozza ..... Green did not leave for more money .... he left because Warriors offered him a 3 year deal, to match this Manly would have had to offer him another 2 years on top of 2018 .... this is something the club said they weren't prepared to do ...the club is on record saying that they would not stand in Green's way of securing a longer future ... ...

Your arguments are without foundation ...

This thread is now up to 320 pages ..... which means we have now repeated pages 1 & 2 .... for 160 times ....

Can anybody tell me .... on either side of the debate ..... if their opinion has been changed by anything anybody else has said ......

For fuc$s sake Woodsie, don’t ruin this by being reasonable...

And to answer your very reasonable question, no, no one has changed my mind. As I’m sure I haven’t changed theirs.

Which means.........I/we need to double down and argue harder, longer, maybe even incorporate name calling
