Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

Yep, the more I think about it the more it makes sense to just take the hit. Rival fans will always believe we are guilty anyway. The press have made it clear already who they are siding with and it is not Manly. If we end this here it will be a minor tarnish on nothing of note and we can start with a clean slate and move on. Had this been about our winning years I would feel different, however it is covering the worst 5 years in our modern history so who gives a toss. If there is one thing for sure it is that it will be forgotten quicker than an international phone number after a couple of weeks, and the league media will go chasing another ambulance looking for a story.

The world is trial by media these days in they have us guilty already. Move on!

Listening to triple m yesterday morning, not that I want to , I hate those clowns, Weidler came on and went on about stuff. The part that got me was when he said toddles got all the media together and said to them, what, are all you guys going soft on Manly, as if to say ,lift your game and keep kicking them while their down, dont let up. If that doesnt say how much of an agenda he has against the club, then I dont know what will. You cant tell me other clubs out there couldnt see his personal hate to our club in that presser the other day, but because it takes the heat off them, they wont put their hands up and say, Gee Toddles, that was a bit harsh on the Manly club dont you think. Everyone I know involved in footy hate the guy, they all say he is killing the game, but no one will stand up to him

I’ve been hammering Rothfield and Moley on Twitter ( nicely I’m never a dickhead) , no replies from them but lots of activity on my Tweets.

Moley reckons he’s seen enough of the files to know we are cheats and shouldn’t be playing for points in 2018.

Very harsh words!!
The Mole tweeted that Manly were cheats the day the NRL Investigation began 😎

He also omitted a retraction when the Task Force cleared Manly of Match Fixing 😡

Then again, Greenturd never had a Presser about that either.😕

I think doing this is even more important now that there is huge uncertainty over Lottoland. Pay the fine ASAP and move forward clean, because if they are fighting this next year and we have no major sponsor, the club is finished.

Manly legend ‘irate’ at NRL treatment of Immortal Fulton

SEA Eagles “godfather” Ken Arthurson has described the treatment of rugby league Immortal Bob Fulton by the NRL over the club’s salary cap drama as “bloody disgraceful”.

“I am really irate about the statement made by (NRL CEO Todd) Greenberg that ‘Bozo’ would not be welcomed back into the game,” said “Arko”.

While Fulton had not been interviewed by anyone at the NRL during their investigation, Greenberg said he was heavily engaged in negotiations for the period of time he worked at Manly and would no longer be considered for a role as an Australian selector.

“That is beyond the pale,” Arthurson said.

“Here is a bloke who has given in excess of 50 years service to the game, not only as a player but as a coach, coach of Australia and selector and administrator,” Arthurson said.

“And nobody has shown any evidence to my knowledge that he has done anything wrong.

“It’s bloody disgraceful for a bloke like that.

“He is one of our first Immortals and it is just very, very wrong and unfair to a guy with that background.

Yesterday, a bemused Fulton said he was still waiting to hear from the NRL what he was supposed to have done wrong.

‘‘ it is just very, very wrong and unfair to a guy with that background

Arthurson spoke with Fulton’s wife Ann yesterday, offering his full support. “His contribution to the game doesn’t deserve that,” he said.

The rugby league doyen prefaced his remarks by making it clear he had no idea what anyone at Manly was being paid, nor did he have any input into the administration of the club.

Arthurson, as Manly club secretary, brought Fulton from Wollongong to Manly as a 17-year-old. He became virtually a second father to him. And Arthurson ranks Fulton the No.1 footballer he has seen. “I’ve always said it is very, very difficult to compare all the great players,” he said.

“But I felt Bozo is the best player I’ve seen. He had that uncanny ability to just turn a game around in a manner of a seconds.”

Arko is spot on as usual.

To publicly condemn anyone without first giving them a proper right of reply to the allegations levelled against them is a dog act.

To do it to someone of Fulton's standing shows a complete lack of common decency and a lack of respect for the man and the game.

Greenberg is a low low pile of dog ****.

We are lucky the Cricket thing is on, virtually no coverage of us outside of NRL360, Hooper, Slothfield and Mole.

We don’t rate and never have.

The whole thing is still very confusing!

Manly are claiming they didn't do anything wrong and were cap compliant, NRL thinks differently and accuses Manly of illegal handling of tpa's basically saying we were doing under the table payments.

Because of this those payments which Manly thought were not part of the cap have now been deemed to be part of the cap? Putting Manly above the cap limit? Blake Green goes and we become cap compliant, so we are not docked any competition points but are unable to sign any more players for 2017.

As a punishment we are fined 500k and have to take 660k off the cap over the next 2 years for rorting the system!

Manly still claim innocence yet NRL with their 800k documents saying evidence is black and white.

Hopefully it just blows over now and we can concentrate on the footy.

Releasing Blake green made all the difference... Signing Thompson must have been unnoticed.

So if we think it is only about tpa’s, why were the nrl apparently telling us to get under the cap so not to lose points? That would say we were also over the cap, and apparently did not replace green so to stay under the cap

Because the NRL wanted to count all of Manly's TPA's as part of the cap whereas other teams are outside the cap and Manly thought theirs were too.

Love to see Barrett release a video with him burning that warning letter on it.

What a joke.

Cheers for making me famous SPARTAN, never thought I'd make the big leagues... Aka Silvertails.

You missed my reply:
Thanks Paul. But why are they willing to "drop it" for the Panthers but not for Manly...? A promise of a TPA was made. That took Maloney off the market.

Kents reply:
Because the system is a joke. The NRL failed miserably again here. They should have looked more deeply. Instead they let it go, further undermining the integrity of the game.

Even Kent can see how unfairly we are being treated. That's a good thing. He will ask questions and that's what we want from the media....

Kent will get told to shut up. Every now and then he starts asking the right hard questions and within a week it is nothing, no follow up etc. Can only be that there are powerful people telling him to stop, nothing else makes sense.

I've called Kent out on it in the past and asked him if being an NRL advocate affects his views and he danced around it saying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

They have plenty of those (and those of their editors) but I'd prefer a few facts once in awhile.

It poses a very real question...
Why was Bozos named even mentioned if they cannot force him to be apart of the investigation?
Why is anything to do with his records even being put out there?

This is an NRL investigation. The NRL has no right to have anything to do with Fulton because he no longer holds a position within the NRL yet they have tarnished his name and leaked info to the telecrap...

Surely this spells defamation of the highest order? Can they legally do what they've just done?

Andrew Gee didn't get the same "Todd" attention.

Being that I'm dumb, could you enlightened ones clarify a couple of questions floating in my eagle mind;
1. Toddy at his presso said that it would be inappropriate to name the players, yet on Fox same day- Buzz comes right out after DCE leaves and names DCE and Walks as culprits - so how id Buzz find out, why has nothing been said, so much for the not naming - THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION! - who leaked the intel and they should be sacked.
2. Someone needs to come out and tell us how much do we have left in our salary cap to buy 2 more players for this year. Are we releasing Lussick to free up a few more hundred and then looking for 3 players?
3. If like many are suggesting in the uniformed world that Manly got off lightly, then would we appear. If we don't appeal then that is an admission of guilt (and given The Cricket situation), then does the club owe everyone a Truthful account of what happened and why? If we did it we should be more transparent. We are better than the other clubs so we should lead the way. Then Yes, we cheated but we could still hold our heads high.

The nrl only want conversations respected and private when they are ringing Bozo, apparently.

Others can probably answer the rest of your questions.
