Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

Ray was fired up big time but that’s a given due to his relationship to Bozo.

PK said that the two Penrith fans that called Inglis that certain term were given 24hrs to repond to the notice the NRL issued. But the one man on the entire planet that has done more for the game than any other person was not given the right to defend the allegations.

Due to the leaks of the sms’s to Ch9 both Ray and PK agreed that someone has to be accountable naming Greenberg and Weeks as the two ppl whose head should roll.

It poses a very real question...
Why was Bozos named even mentioned if they cannot force him to be apart of the investigation?
Why is anything to do with his records even being put out there?

This is an NRL investigation. The NRL has no right to have anything to do with Fulton because he no longer holds a position within the NRL yet they have tarnished his name and leaked info to the telecrap...

Surely this spells defamation of the highest order? Can they legally do what they've just done?
You hit the nail on the head..Greensprog shouldn't have raised Bozo at all given he is outside the scope of the jurisdiction. Yet there is a deafening silence on the conduct of the players agents who are pivotal to all the negotiations. His arrogance is going to come back to bite him.

Going back a few stages and when the Manly salary cap investigation first started , what became of the inference and suggestion by the N R L that there were a few other clubs that might warrant some attention as well . Seemed to be some deafening silence from the N R L then . Also as another poster commented the other day , could be an additional scheming aspect to the ruling with Greenberg giving Penn the opportunity to cut his losses by not taking it any further action and with any previous legal bills by reducing the fine to 500 k and deducted from the 660 k cap reduction but which is allocated to the club . [ 160 k credit then of course ] Then on his petty reasoning maybe taunting Penn to take it further but it is going to cost him . Greenberg and his cronies are just relying on their interpretation of the T P A ' s process to justify their position and decision and that on any measure definitely could not make it a matter of case closed .Then both Geenberg and Beatie put their foot into it in trying to further defend their position by disparaging and belittling an N R L. immortal . I really do not think that their stance and position on this matter is as strong and unassailable as they think it is .

Todd is digging his own grave right now.

Being that I'm dumb, could you enlightened ones clarify a couple of questions floating in my eagle mind;
1. Toddy at his presso said that it would be inappropriate to name the players, yet on Fox same day- Buzz comes right out after DCE leaves and names DCE and Walks as culprits - so how id Buzz find out, why has nothing been said, so much for the not naming - THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION! - who leaked the intel and they should be sacked.

Hadlee & Kent inferred it was one or both of Greenslime and Weaks

Notice how Beattie distanced himself and the Commission members from the decision saying that he backs Greenberg's decision on this matter.

2. Someone needs to come out and tell us how much do we have left in our salary cap to buy 2 more players for this year. Are we releasing Lussick to free up a few more hundred and then looking for 3 players?
3. If like many are suggesting in the uniformed world that Manly got off lightly, then would we appear. If we don't appeal then that is an admission of guilt (and given The Cricket situation), then does the club owe everyone a Truthful account of what happened and why? If we did it we should be more transparent. We are better than the other clubs so we should lead the way. Then Yes, we cheated but we could still hold our heads high.
Chez had ever News Ltd Paper with full double page and back page libelous pieces yesterday.😎

He would be well served in seeking damages himself :wait:

Let alone Penn who Buzz said on TV signed a non compliant contract when hero Kelly refused 😎

Questioned Hooper today on his blog. Initially he wouldn't answer my question but then I go this. His answer at the top and my question below.
(I've already hit him with a reply...see if he answers...)

Hi Luke,
All I know is the Maloney TPA wasn't registered. And Manly have been found guilty of rorting the salary cap. That's fairly black and white.

Hi James, Wondering why you won't answer my question about the difference between the Panthers Maloney Keno promised TPA and Manlys promised TPA situation? And please don't say it's because you have soooo many questions. This is one of the slowest blogs yet. Talk about an agenda....let me guess.... Your an NRL advocate?... Thank God for Kenty. At least he calls a spade a spade.

Rip in brother, **** em all!!

I posted some time ago that the outcome was always likely to be a finding of guilt - so as to justify the NRLs investigation- with a merely moderate penalty - so Manly would accept it.

I obviously don’t know any of the ins and outs of the evidence, but reading between the lines, Greenberg has misjudged in 2 ways.

1. The penalty is a bit too steep for Manly to just call it quits
2. Attacking Fulton. This was quite a surprise and could easily backfire in a big way. (Looks like it already is starting)

He’s known as Teflon Todd for a reason, but here’s 2 blunders to hopefully bring Greenberg undone.

I thought it didn't matter if the TPA did not end up being registered.. It's still a breach

He could have said we misinterpreted the rules but that's no excuse and we must pay the price. He could have even levied the exact same penalty. That would have cleared the way for Manly to accept the penalty with its dignity and the dignity of those involved in tact (and, as a further benefit, from what I can gather it may well be the truth, but sadly the truth is very much beside the point in this whole thing).

Instead he went down the path of saying we deliberately cheated. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this sullied the reputations of both Penn and Fulton (and others), which means this is no longer about the penalty so much as it is about clearing their name.

It's a dangerous game he is playing and it's driven by his ego, as are most of his missteps in recent times. I even heard him interviewed by Matty Johns on MMM saying that if fans have a problem with refs then they have a problem with him as he is telling the refs what to do and they are doing it (as if no fan would dare say they had a problem with him). Guess what Todd - a lot of us have a problem with you.

He has lost touch with reality and his "A Few Good Men" moment surely can't be far away.
