Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

Does anyone reckon if we won 2013 it would have been taken off us as it falls into the past 5 years we’ve been apparently cheating?

Got to love this morning.

Open fox sports... all cricket headlines on front page.

Open the NRL tab, top story is about Nathan Cleary and the NSW Blues.

Go to SMH - Top Sports stories are all cricket.

NRL picked their timing to avoid brand damage just right.

Turds never ever worried about our brand damage

“Greenberg’s henchmen?”
Surely you jest. Are you suggesting that Rothfield and Hooper are out to get Fulton? If so,you have a lot to learn about the Sydney media and radio personalities.

"Henchmen" was probably the wrong word and should have used the word "believers". Point taken.

Did Toovey get a mention? If not ... why not??
I suspect Toovey was in the same situation as Barrett, gave his opinion on the type of players he wanted but in the end had no say in who actually were signed and at what price.Last year Paul Kent couldn’t stop patting Fulton on the back and kissing his ass over what a “great” job he’d done with turning the club around and the players he had signed. At no stage was anyone else at the club applauded for the turn around.

My point is .. they are saying over 5 years .... that is 2 years before Fulton got involved and Toovey was in charge ....

edit .... I am also not suggesting either did anything wrong ... it is just that GreenTurd has made a point of warning Baz and telling fulton he will never play for Australia again .... yet Toovey ... nada ...

Is that around the time of Foran’s issues?

And so ennds Bozo's glittering playing career.....(and fair points)

That’s where the Joe Kelly/Scott Penn side of the story

I suppose as Toovey, like Barrett, had nothing to do with the signing and paying of players and now not having any official position at a club or NRL,they can’t really do anything to him.Barrett probably got the warning because,as current coach, you’d expect him to be all over these issues.Probably a gentle reminder to keep an eye on things.Im sure Wayne Bennett knows every cent that gets payed to the Broncos

The major point in any appeal is that in a court case it’s taken to a higher court ( usually ) and gets you more experienced judges.

In this case surely it’s appealing to the same people who will clearly say,

Um, well we’ve taken another look and um, well, not really so, um , well um...denied!!
Not sure if this has been said because i'm still reading through but the higher committee is actually Ian Callinan who was a high court judge. He served for 8-9 years on the high court. He's a man of incredible integrity. He's not an nrl bottom feeder with an agenda

i am not really up to date with all this due to busy times, but can someone tell me is the only issue that caused this fine is that manly apparently help set up 3rd party payments, when this should all be done through player management etc..

I think even less than that. Manly say they just mentioned parties to player managers in the initial stages of talking that may be able to help players and left it at that.

Not even that from what Gould said yesterday.

Manly would pass on potential TPAs (who naturally called the Club as they do not know who the Agents have on their books) information to Agents.

Some would proceed and some would not.

Manly are thus charged with 'guaranteeing' said TPA.

Manly contends that the introduction was just that and the negotiations were between the Agent and the TPA
