I'd rather Barrett stay than Neil Henry. He is Anthony Griffen 2.0. The players hate him and he is out of touch as a communicator.

The upside of Barrett leaving is that we may have a chance at keeping Marty Taupau. Marty don't like Baz. Chez and Trbo's love Baz. He give them key to city. Therein lies the problem at Manly.

If Gus can re hire a sacked Cleary, then Manly can do the same with 2v :wait:

As much as i hate Gus, the big difference is he knows football and would re-build a bridge that was burnt. Penns are arrogant and have no idea about anything. We are stuffed and will be wooden spoon contenders for the foreseeable future until we are shut down/sold on/ relocated etc

I won't be auto renewing my membership until i see some sort of plan next season before i opt in. This season has been hard to cop as a member and if there was light at the end of the tunnel then ok but it's just looking worse...

Can Cartwright and Henry work together. Would Cartwright hold even the slightest grudge since it was Henry who took over when he was fired?

Anyway it is outrageous, that even though these might be the best candidates there is not a single person on this list who is not a middle aged white man.

Idea.
1. Why doesn't a clever Silvertails wordsmith type a letter to Gorman and the Penns stating the need for the fans to see Toovey back at the club in some capacity. Memberships would rise. A lot of harmony would be restored. It's just good PR in a club that's all but losing it's gritty identity.
2. Every Silvertails member sends the exact same email to Lyall.
People power. It's worth a go.

You just did.

Sadly I can’t see the Penns having Tooves back or Hasler (too expensive) while they own the club.

We’ll be coached by either cheap older coaches looking for a gig (Henry) or an up and comer looking for a start.

Whoever that may be would be a cheap option as the Penns won’t spend the money needed.

I’m not anti-Henry but like everyone would’ve preferred Hasler/Toovey.

I believe with the playing group we have, they’d get us into the semis and with a signing here or there...they’d make us contenders within 2 years.

I’m hoping he may make us more consistent and HOPEFULLY bring some defence back to our side but I don’t believe we’ll be contenders under him.

He’d be ?maybe half the price of Hasler so it’s a no brainer for the Penns.

I doubt Hasler would come back for under 1 million.

I love the sentiment, and anything is worth a go; however, we all know what the ones that really hold sway at Manly think about the fans and their relevancy. We are considered as a necessary evil, good for membership dollars only and should otherwise shut up and swallow whatever they dish out - at least one influential figure feels that way.

We have no knowledge, no understanding, typically no idea. We are fickle and simple and can be shut up by winning - that is how we are seen by this club. I suspect Gorman isn’t of this same line of thinking, and whilst he has made some errors in how things have been handled lately - we all know he would be heavily under instruction.

Our recent history shows that our coaches and CEOs have no power and are micro-managed to the point of complete and utter frustration. Seibold left after a brief stint as he was ignored and not allowed to be his own man. We lost Cleary as CEO after 6 months because he dared to right the wrongs and now Barrett (regardless of whether he is the right coach or not) clearly has struggled with the same interference.

A well run organisation doesn’t go through all we have been through over the last five years. There are common denominators at play - the owners, the media consultant and the Fultons. Bozo was a tremendous player and a very good coach back in the day; however, he has always been a ‘my way or the highway’ type of guy who quite obviously micro-manages and has brought his entire family into club positions - not because they are the best qualified but because they are his own and he holds influence over them. He has done some great things for this club and he deserves respect for that; however, the club needs to start afresh.

As for the media consultant, well, again, there is no doubt he identifies as Manly, he has also done some good things for the club over the years. Unfortunately, people can lose their way, become bitter, paranoid and agenda driven - it is clear that this has been happening for a while now and it is completely toxic. Nobody holds more contempt for the fans than he does - that has come out of his own mouth on numerous occasions - how is that tenable?

The owner - Scott, he seems a little too pliable, influenced by the imposing personalities mentioned above to the clubs downfall. It is hard for people to man-up and stand-up, I hope he can - because he needs to if things are to change. Our only way out is for all agendas to be let go, fans to be genuinely appreciated, investment made where it is needed, pride to be swallowed and lastly, all employees - coaching and administration to be given the time and space to do what they do without interference and manipulation.

I’d love to see it happen.

I could handle Maguire as head coach but he has no idea as far as game plans go(if people think Barrett has no idea, then Maguire is even worse...)He would need some creative input from his assistants which is why I would love to see Cliffy,Beaver and Kite as assistants(if he is appointed).Maguire is a motivator which is good for a year or two,but when the same tired speeches lose their impact you need ideas/tactics,I also don't know how his documented iron fist training/coaching regime would go down with modern players, could be disastrous or what the club needs, could lead to a revolt or exodus(good or bad).As for Henry,he has been given the flick from 2 clubs and people on here bag Cartwright for being given the flick from one?

Well went to 40th last night. Mate of mine work colleague good friend with chad randall.
Neil henry signed that will ****ing do me. Place is ****ed, ontop of that dylan walker and martin tapau will leave at seasons end.
So disillusioned with the clowns, the fat mouth piece saying they won't pay good money for coach.
I hope none of what i mentioned will come true.

If true that will do me too mate. I will not spend my time and emotions thinking about and discussing what would only be another painful season and would take a sabbatical until it changes.
Call me a weak supporter or whatever but it is just not worth it.

But probably will.

Won’t that just make for a truly wonderful , harmonious off season on Silvertails and an even more inspiring season 2019.

FMD, I’ll state it here and now , I’ll be almost permanently fishing in 2019.

Thinking of heading up to the Kimberley’s next year , probably away for most of the season.

Maybe by 2020 this **** might be sorted!!

Yeap agree that will end us as manly. The end game is to get the massive government dollars in nz or perth to relocate.
