Great win The team we played were equal with us on points and coming off three in a row ... not running last.!!
Three of their tries were lotteries and the refs took 12 off us.
Spine was fantastic and we played direct. Walker was good.

Good and will get better.

One thing that I did notice was that we did stop doing fast play the balls to catch the opposition offside in that second half.

The way I look at this, is that we didn’t play a full 80 minutes of footy, and seemed to mentally click off for a decent chunk of the second half.

I put this down less as a game costing attribute, and more in the region of the simple fact that there wasn’t any real challenge left in the game.

When we were on, it was a serious mismatch between two teams apparently level on points in this competition. All that kept this game from being a 50+ blow out was the concerted efforts of the officialdom and a mental lapse that can, and will, be addressed by Des.

Great win by the all the boys today. Any win against the slime is satisfying even though all their tries were lucky, they were never in it.
Best game for Walker in the 5/8 position too I thought. Strong runs and kicks, no silly pushing passes or crabbing runs.
Against Munster though next week we'll need Cust back who's a specialist 5/8.

I reckon we would have won by a better margin if our game today was played at 2PM. We looked unstoppable in the daylight

We got very tired because we spent 60 min doing it at cracking pace. Next week though we do it for 80 min or we'll get done.

You know, I wouldn't say we had a $hit second half. More that we had periods where we did get a bit lazy at times, but that also happened in the first half. But so long as we got even a sniff of a fair go from the blind mice, we always had their measure today.

Should have won by more though and would have if we didn't have 3 or 4 tries taken off us for BS reasons.

It's just how manly are unfortunately.. I said to my old boy at half time, we may aswell turn it off now.. Manly + big lead + 40 mins on the clock = almost unwatchable sh|t show.
Can set your watch by it.. Intensity drops off, completions become non existent and the unworthy opponents score 2-3 easy tries to make it look alot closer than it deserves.. Disappointing considering how congested the table is and f/a could be the diff between manly playing finals at Brooky or not

We put the clubs in the bag when Jake went off for a well deserved rest. Dessie won't be happy with that finish. We had an opportunity to win by 40, but we shut up shop and only added 12 to our for and against. A missed opportuinity for sure, and may cost us a top 4 spot.

Manly had plenty in the tank. A few disallowed tries and almost tries but for clumsy execution. It would have been 50 with a bit more polish.

Dylan was good at 6. Combined well with cherry for the Garrick try.

Des can work on it this week.

Score would of flattened eels. They got some luck tries, we missed 3 goals and had 4 disallowed and one dropped over the line, also disallowed. When we were on, best attack i have seen from them this year

Parker still can’t catch or run without falling over
Garrick still runs sideways too much and misses easy conversions
Tagus still has no urgency and is so slow at everything.
Cherry still plays way to loose
croker is not a hooker
Thompson and siro still play too tight and run at the markers way to much

There is a lot that needs to be better. That 2nd half pissed me off no end, it should have been 50-12. We will be cannon fodder if we don’t address the fundamentals.

This was not a good win, but I’ll take it and move on, but there should be no resting on laurels after that 2nd half.

Seeking attention, post didn't match the game. Parra got a few lucky tries we completely out play them

It’s a crazy thing to say but beating the Eels well a Brooky is almost better than a grand final win.

I really didn’t submit my post to seek attention. But if tafua continually shows little urgency, Garrick misses easy shots, cherry not finding the in goal continually with kicks, and Parker unco’s it up, we won’t be beating the teams that will show more than parramatta today.

The first half was great, the 2nd half appalling. We needed that point differential.
