I just watched the replay of it and thought the exact same thing, Bob. Gutted at how this club has fallen this past decade and a bit.

Just finished watching it. Don’t mind admitting I still get teary eyed with that Menzies try in the 2008 GF. As far as fairytales go, that is hard to beat.

Good to see Cliffy still putting **** on the ref for 95. What a legend.

Unless I'm wrong, he's also good mates with Zorba.

I guess I'm lucky. Being from and still living in Adelaide, I never had to deal with Hadley's radio show or personality. He's Sydney's problem

As a football commentator though, I tend to agree that he goes alright. Unlike most ex-players who get commentating jobs because of who they are regardless of their mic skills (or lack thereof), at least Hadley comes from a radio calling background and sorta kinda knows what he's doing.

Yes one of my best memories of that game...... way up in the middle of the stadium but we were all up on our feet cheering

Guess a bit understated but how most of the passes seemed to stick
Probably a combination of some deft and precise passing and positioning from Cliffie and Beaver having some real good handling skills
Beaver did make it look easy slicing through the opening but also there , more as a result of his great footwork , acceleration , anticipation
Can "t really think of a Manly back rower that was so good on his feet and the pace to go with it then Beaver
Gartner was real good also , Choc had quite a bit going for him as well ,
Shawn Lane had deceptively good footwork as well but Beaver exclusively , always just seemed to have that real elite level of ability and more so , finishing ability

Menzies, Randall, Reilly, with Watmough as back up would be my greatest back row group. Awesome talent all of them. And Cliffy was my number one five eighth, pushing Fulton to centre. Alan Thompson or Jamie Lyon back up five eighth

Dont forget Nic Kosef, two good knees and he would have been a superstar. An ideal 13 in todays game.
