Gutherson & Knight

Think we are in a negative situation here with signings of too many players in the same position and this will cause anxiety to other players particularly the 20's who have come home with a wet sail and surprised some. They may be even more in demand after Sunday.
Snake, Hiku, TT, Gutho, Moltzen .....fullbacks. Where does Green play? Ballin, Api, Hodges, Parcell, Pratt all hookers.....Brown also.
Too many 'jack of all trades' players and not enough specialists in positions like second row .....

Manly have issued a stern ‘hands off’ to rivals clubs circling boom front-rower Liam Knight.
“Due to recent media speculation, the club wish to clarify the contractual status of outstanding young NYC under-20s prop Liam Knight.
“Liam has had an outstanding season and was presented with the club’s NYC Best and Fairest accolade.
“Liam is under contract for the 2016 season. The club will continue to develop Liam to ensure that he pushes for NRL selection in the near future.”
The Roosters are among the clubs believed to be interested in the ball-playing 20-year-old, who will line up for Manly against Penrith in the Holden Cup grand final on Sunday.
But the Sea Eagles have made it clear Knight is going nowhere.

I'm confused. 😕
'Contracted till 2017' means Gutho was surplus to requirements.😎
But 'contracted to 2016' means that Liam is not allowed to leave

A more benevolent person would label Manly a 'dynamic' organisation - blink and the personnel change in that instant :giggle:

Would let a few of the deadwood go to get Adam Docker .....released by Penrith.
Big hitter in defence. Great technique even though not big.
Make an exception for him.

And not enough middle men.

I wonder how much of our salary cap will be taken up for him playing at the slime since he was signed till 2017???? Can he still do a backflip???

Sorry @BOZO , but u must live in a dream world my feathered friend. All this has been said about every player that we had and let go....The place is being run by fools IMO and we as "members" get told sweet FA, but can read it thru the various spin articles the Fat Greek Leak writes for.
Feathered friend our club has been the most successful NRL club in the modern times so lets give the fools that run our club some credit and also lets us wait and see how the 2016 season goes before we make assumptions

Good call bozo!

Not under this regime they haven't been, feathered friend.
Under this regime we won the 2011 grand final . The Penns were the major club shareholders before our fair weather feathered friends Quantum pulled their money out and pissed off

Under this regime, where the Penns had SOLE run of the place they have done fark all...Missed the finals.....They have distanced themselves from members and supporters. They have f#cked the joint very very quickly. U can suck their bollocks @BOZO but I don"t have to. I still support Manly but I don't have my head up their @rse with blinkers on.

The Penns as major share holders of the joint have a premiership trophy and you can keep your blinkers on that one and don't have to recognise it
We missed the finals last year and to half glass empty people it is the end of the world whereas other people look at the glass full of hope for the 2016 season and beyond .

Ok children, settle down.

Fact: Manly have won the premiership with the Penn's as a part of the ownership group.
Fact: Manly have not won a premiership with the Penn's as the sole owners of the club.

The Penn's have only been sole owners this season and as we know, we didn't make the finals.

Does that settle any arguments?

Thanks HV8, but we had worked that out....lol

Gutho's release neatly fits Manly's strategic plan:
1. Gutho's contract was recently extended
2. Gutho can kick goals
3. Gutho is not over 30
4. Gutho's release was performance related. He's sat on the sidelines since the day he signed the contract. Just like with Toovs, injuries are simply no excuse.

Foran was signed this time last year with Parra whats stopping Roosters doing the same with Knight?

Fark I hope we keep all of our Kids from the NYC. And yes we do NOT Need another JWH Saga.

The Koala Rorters do this too many times. Time for NRL to Investigate them.

They buy all the Good Juniors just so no other Club can have them. Even if it costs them their career.
