Mark, I'm guessing your first computer was a Commodore Vic20? :p

OMG that brings back memories of my childhood :)

My very first computer was a DSW

I will admit to having an old Vic-20. My dad bought it second hand out of the old Adelaide Trading Post paper in about 1981 or 82 I think.

We then upgraded to the better Commodore 64 ;). Unfortunately we never had an Atari 2600 so it was the games on the 64.....thankfully with the quicker loading 5 1⁄4" floppy disks and not the tapes which took forever and a day to load lol.

@josh_massoud
That was an astounding penalty against Parcell. Smith resented being on the end of a great tackle from his opposite and the referees obliged him. Again. #WCCStormRhinos

At least one media person, saw the elbow to Parcell's head

Barnaby needs to hire Smith's PR agent, but probably too late with old sanctimonious mate Malcolm tossing him under the cement truck.

I don’t think Cam and his mates have given Yvonne a cushy, overpaid job that she isn’t qualified for, at taxpayer expense. He also hasn’t used taxpayer dollars to claim travel allowances for trips when all he did was shag his mistress.

This rumour is BS anyway.

Reading around, it's another storm game I'm glad I didn't watch. Well I rarely watch them as it really is astounding how much the refs let them get away with.

Plus their defence: 2 men hold the player up, a third comes in to hit and twist the player on their back...and repeat. Whilst many will say it's effective...it's the ref's not letting any other team do it to the same level that makes it a joke.

I've never seen any other organisation nor officials blatantly sanction 'outside the envelope' play so consistently to any other team in any other sport ever.

Translation = It's bizarre and disgusting how much the nrl and the refs allow the storm to get away with.

you 80's computer /gamer nerds should read 'Ready Player One' by Ernest Cline

I remember my first one I bought for work ( 1982 ), it was an NEC APC 4, with a MASSIVE ( in that day) 10mb hard drive, the cost with software at the time $13,000.00 ( 82 dollars).

I leased it for 5 years and said to my accountant “ when I’ve finished paying this off our accounting will be set for a decade”.

Little did I know!!

By the way $13k in 2018 dollars, probably $30,000 now maybe more.

I hope for $13,000 the porn was still OK.

Wow...the power of Cam Smith.....

He can even distract Manly forum posters with computer stories. It's like hypnosis.

One minute we're talking about his lack of morals....

nek minut - hey I had an old computer once!!!!

Also... TRS-80 ftw!

i started with an 'intellevision' game machine before moving to a vic 20 then commodore 64, the day i got a disk drive was the happiest day of my life(at that time) - no more press play, wait 10-15 minutes then 'error please try again' or some other annoying message

Memotech 500, $40 from a garage sale around 1987(?)
It was pretty good, an English computer that also allowed me to learn some basic programming. Later upgraded to Atari ST, they were both fantastic fun, quite mind blowing given the technology I’d grown up with.
