it wouldn't matter, he is injured more often than playing so he won't be on the field often enough to cause any dramas!

I think you missed the point.

The payments for spine players are well above the rest in the modern game.
Dugan wants fullback money, and St Choke offered him centre money.

The playing position is irrelevant here, he just wants the fullback dollars.
As he did with St Choke, he will play centre for the gummies, but on fullback dollars.

He will be paid like a fullback, however he may not be playing there, he was seeking around a million a year for four years at the Dragons, [ good luck if he can get it], Sharks gave him a four year 3 million dollar deal, he's a much better fullback than centre, all he does is run he never passes.
Dumb Dragons think they have a ready made replacement in Matt Dufty, he can run alright, but that's about it, he'll keep on getting smashed at fullback

IMO Dugan will be better served as a centre. The modern day fullback has to be a good ball player to add that other attacking dimension. I think Dugan is a great player but a terrible ball player. For this reason I feel he will make a better centre than fullback. The sharks are going to have a killer backline next year.

prefer townsend at manly then Pearce. half the price. same credentials really in delivering a premiership. plus we wont lose chad come rep time. pearce is a given and overrated. if he wasnt at the chooks but at the tigers for eg. he wouldnt be demanding 800k because he isnt a game winner. his price tag is an illusion of the the product of easts and all the players bought around him. moses will be twice the player and has proven he can flip a game upside down even this early in his career

I'm pretty confident we've got at least one, more likely 2, reasonable calibre players yet to be signed. I think the club is playing chess with available players, and they obviously know how to do it at a high level because we signed Taupau, Walker, and Uate out of nowhere.

If round 1 rolls along and we haven't picked up at least another second rower, I'll be worried. Until then I see no cause for panic.
