All we are saying, is Pearce off !

Rothfield tweeted this afternoon Sharks are a big chance to get him.

Who would you rather as your halves partner, DCE or Townsend?

Buzz in 1 week has had Pearce coming to us than going to Newcastle and now the Sharks so he is bound to be right.

I have a feeling that we are 3rd in a 3 horse race and not because of money but relationships he has with the sharks players (from soo) will sway him. I prefer him to stay at the rorters if we don't get him.

It looks more and more likely we're in for a tough year next year.

A lot of teams have good players coming in.
Roosters teddy and Cronk.
Cowboys Scott and Thurston
Sharks Dugan, Moylan and more.

I'm still really confused with our cap.

I'm pretty confident we've got at least one, more likely 2, reasonable calibre players yet to be signed. I think the club is playing chess with available players, and they obviously know how to do it at a high level because we signed Taupau, Walker, and Uate out of nowhere.

If round 1 rolls along and we haven't picked up at least another second rower, I'll be worried. Until then I see no cause for panic.

Well going into next year without improving certain positions from this year isn't progress. Surely we have plenty of cash from Stewart and Matai retiring and with the cap going up.

What would you expect from a committed Sharks supporter

I’d probably expect that he has a reasonable amount of contacts within the club and knows how hard they would be going for Pearce, mate. I think Pearce would compliment DCE well so I hope he’s off the mark.

If Pearce goes to Sharks wont his halves partner be Moylan and Townsend gets the flick?
Or does Moylan play fullback?

Moylan would shift to FB apparently which I’m sure wouldn’t make Valentine Holmes all that happy. Bloody game of dominos.

MONEY FOR MITCH
MONEYBALL exists in the NRL with Cronulla’s budget for an $8.4 million salary cap in 2018 leaving them with cash to splash on uncertain Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce.

While several clubs banked on — or over — the eventual cap figure of $9.4 million, the Sharks’ bean counters low-balled their entire salary cap — and they’re now smiling like Cheshire cats.

The Sharks signing of Matt Moylan until the end of 2020 on an average $680,000 a season and the exit of James Maloney, who was on about $650,000 a season, to Penrith, might be a swap by name but not entirely by position.

If Pearce suggests he wants out of the Roosters, the Sharks are planning to go all out for him to play alongside either Moylan or current halfback Chad Townsend.

Low-balled, is that a new description for the Salary Cap Sombrero?

Reactions: Ben
So where does Cronulla hope to play all they players? Obviously Holmes will be 1 and Dugan in the centres but Moylan only went to Sharks for the 6 jumper and Pearce wants halfback but Townsend is already the 7 on a long term deal and wont be getting a bigger pay check from anyother clubs.

Was reported 4 year deal for 3.6 million for moylan. same deal he was on at panthers. 900k a year. no way he signs for 680k a year ha. DT idiots

Cant see sharks affording him. its a gee up. DT reporters have no idea

Plus wasn't Maloney looking for extra cash all year because he was on a wage way below his peers? E.g. $400k

If the Sharks get Pearce & also have Moylan now, they have, by doing nothing more the waiting have beaten the Chooks for quality.
How’s that Zorba ?

the cap amount is different to the "paid" amount.
tpa's are player specific and transferable, they are not the clubs supposedly (unless you are the broncos or uncle nickie).
