Walters Sacked

As uplifting it is to see Brisbane imploding you can bet the club will still gain maximum free-to-air exposure on prime time television next season. The Channel Nein coverage has little to do with giving all fans a contest between the better performing teams.
You never Who, if the Broncos keep going this way, Nein's ratings might go up considering every other fan will be tuning in to see the Broncos losing each week. Wayno will be smiling from ear to ear 😁

He lost Walsh and Carrigan that was game over.

Reynolds didn't seem impressed with him either.

Old boys will be barking mad.

Reynolds came out a couple of weeks ago and said the team was backing Walters.

Their performance against the Dolphins told a very different story though.....

The Broncos have fallen on the sword of politics. I wonder what’s going on up there.
No excuses
Nothing and No one stops Great People from achieving Great things

When Des Hasler was at his coaching peak and won the premiership in 2008
The Manly board at the time was in a total disorderly and dysfunctional political chaos
Des instilled the calm in his players minds amongst the political chaos at the Manly club and Inspired them to a premiership win

One of the Greatest coaching achievements of all time
Manly club Premiers amongst Political club chaos

Two of the biggest flogs in the team
Agreed, but to be fair the story states a patrons phone was damaged when he was trying to take a photo of Walsh and that the pair were drinking with a group of Australians and most of the day this bloke was taking photos and filming them. If I was having a drink on holidays and some bloke kept filming me I'd probably throw his phone to ****house as well.

Whilst the above post is just in jest , I’d agree they’ll look for a Broncos “ old boy “ as let’s face it their “ old boys “ run the club.

I doubt Walter’s was sacked , he’s stepped down for sure.

Really?! As in stepped down after a shoulder tap?
The old boys run that place , he wouldn’t be tapped by the CEO, yeah I think he’s probably lost the dressing room and realises he’s not going to be successful staying in the job.

Thanks, interesting. I'm surprised he's realised it and amazed at his timing (why now).

I don’t know that for sure but I’m trying to find out , but he’s an “ old boys favourite “ so there’s no way he’d be sacked by the management side of the club.

I’d say he’s lost the dressing room , and Carrigan & Co would have whinged to the old boys and perhaps he was “ leaned on “ in a nice way but I very much doubt he’d have been sacked.

Not sure I agree Mark. I think def tapped before being cut. The GF last year aside missed finals routinely. Broncs had a purple patch run in 23. This year imo was a more true reflection of where they are at. They whinge about players being out this year, but in reality this is every club.

I reckon the Broncs have assessed he’s not the coach going forward and rather than drag it into next year and sack him mid season, they’ve said let’s make the change now. They’ve then given him the word, step down or be sacked.

I think there are clear issues within their list and have thought that for a while. Too many egos there. As someone else said, this club is arguably the most underperforming club in the nrl over the past 20years, given the advantage they have over many clubs.

Yeah maybe , but as I say the old boys definitely run that joint so I’m just not sure it went down that way.

I don’t disagree re the Old boys sentiment. But I think this has stronger sway against an outsider type like say Siebold, Griffin or Henjak Im just not sure even they went into bat for him here. I think it’s fairly widely acknowledged here he can’t coach. And once the players are done then there’s only really one option left. See what ya can dig up Mark. One thing we will agree on is it’s good to see the Ponies in a bit of turmoil haha.
