I don’t disagree re the Old boys sentiment. But I think this has stronger sway against an outsider type like say Siebold, Griffin or Henjak Im just not sure even they went into bat for him here. I think it’s fairly widely acknowledged here he can’t coach. And once the players are done then there’s only really one option left. See what ya can dig up Mark. One thing we will agree on is it’s good to see the Ponies in a bit of turmoil haha.

Think Madge is a bit to old school for the Broncs tbh. To many players on big money and have figured out they wont get dropped because of their contract standing. I believe at least 2 players need to go to balance the cap and it won't be the cheaper ones.

Well, I’m sure there was some diplomatic dancing (by the CEO)… but doubt Kevin drove much of that whole narrative unfolding. Think Oskar and Goeth in Schindler’s List.

The only “ sacking “ would be if they instigated or approved.

I’m still of the belief he stood down himself , but probably got leaned on somewhere.

The CEO would not have just sacked him without reference.

The last one to do something without their approval got arseholed.

I don’t think Kevvie is a bad bloke or bad coach. Problem is the head swells at the club. The attitude of ‘I play for the Broncos’ can be seen on many of the players. For mine….apart from Carrigan, Mozer & a couple of others, most of the players have their heads so far up their arseholes it’s difficult for them to breath! Kevvie would be a nice addition to our assistant coaching staff.

I struggle seeing Alfie staying without kevvy but more in particular if this was as backstabbing as it’s been reported and I am wondering would Alfie work with an ex NSW coach? Also even though I don’t rate him I’m curious what people think Billy Walters will do, will he do what Brad Arthur’s son done and ask to leave? I think the way everything unfolded behind the scenes plays a big part..

He was delivered the news that nobody wanted to play for him and then he lost the plot is the word. Not an outright sacking so to speak but basically messaged that there’s no way forward, where do we go from here? I think he would have been sacked if he didn’t step down.

Coaching well is a very specific ability, but it's hard to itemise accurately the key elements that lead to success.
Understanding the game is essential, but obviously not enough, and neither is being a 'good bloke' or even a club icon.
Based on my experience I suspect this applies to educational or mentor roles in general!
