The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Good luck to him.

But I still don't think he understands playing NRL is not just about throwing no look passes and trying to skip to the outside by slowing down first. You have to be willing to get belted. (Foz, anybody ?)

I hope he's ok mentally because after all, that's the main thing.

Be interesting where they play him, you would think Walker and Dodd the starting 6 & 7, look forward to seeing how he goes.

Good luck to the kid. He copped plenty on here. Lost his best mate at training & it took its toll on him. Mental issues played a part in his loss of form as well as loss of interest. Again good luck Shoey & hope you finally can put the past behind you & show your true form.
Keith Titmus died in 2020... Schuster stated he would be the best player in the NRL in 2023... there was more to it than just Keith...

Josh came out and said it was a weight off his shoulders being shown the door at Manly because he had been "struggling with some stuff for 2 years"... no idea what that "stuff" was but it had been 3-4 years since Keith...

In the end, blaming supporters for calling out his performances (which he himself admits were not up to standard) achieves nothing... no team has the luxury of being able to carry someone that has "lost interest" in their squad... the wash out is that the kid was going nowhere fast in our colours and our team has not gone backward since he was moved on...

He may succeed elsewhere, he may not... but he has landed in the right spot (under Wayne) to take his opportunity if he wants it bad enough...

time will tell I guess...

I really wish him well but concerned Souths is not the right spot for him. He probably didn’t have a lot of options on the table but the I don’t think the culture at Souths is what he should immerse himself in, even with Bennett coming back. The success Bennett has had at some clubs has masked underlying culture issues IMO, including his first stint Souths.

It is an interesting question...

6 Walker - protected
7 Dodds - Imported (first shot? Humphries 2nd shot?)
13 Murray - better
12 Kaloamatungi - better
11 Arrow - better

Definite opportunity to break into the bench with guys like Mamazoulas, Tallis Duncan and Jacob Host playing regularly in the FG team - although Wayne must also have an opinion of Hubner who is a backrower and has been given 3 years from next season...

I suspect Aitkin is coming solely as a centre to support Wighton (given Wayne was the one that originally put Latrine at FB so I doubt he changes that)

maybe Dodds comes up short or Arrow is moved into the front row with Tom the Pom retiring and Keppie being, well, Keppie... Gonna have to work his butt off to crack that starting side in a backrow or halves position though...

I'm certain with self-centred egoists  and NRL-protected cultural tokens like Latrell and Cody Walker, Schuster will really knuckle down.

Or not.
Fixed it for you...

Initially I went with "protected species" but abandoned that long-accepted expression because of how it would likely have been interpretted in this amazingly vanilla and appallingly woke world that we now inhabit....

The guy that will make out best from this deal will likely be colonel Sanders.
Yawn zzzzzzzzzzzz. The disdain & bagging of the kid goes on. Some on here just have zero empathy. At least he has a million dollars in the bank…..probably loads more than the morons bagging him!

Ahh yes… and “millions in the bank” marks the pinnacle of human endeavour. 🙄

FYI - It aint just on here (which I do not really have any issue with - and have been "guilty" of myself - as it is a fan forum and I think the banter actually adds to its flavour)...

Gordy, Anasta and Curryanus making jokes about Cherry Ripes and sniggering on NRL360 was schoolyard stuff and just poor form on an NRL-associated broadcast commentary...

I thought they undermined their own valid questions about Josh's commiment and effort by unnecessarily "going low"...

Wishing him well and all the best. As others have said on here, we will never understand exactly what is going on in his head, what his motivations were or exactly what went wrong. Think the club and players have done the best they could with him and shown him the care and love that he needed.

There is a gifted athlete and footballer somewhere inside him.

Hoping it comes out for Souths. It's ok if it doesn't though. Don't think some of you understand that. At the end of the day he's a human being. Earning a living to pay his bills, look after himself and his family. That's what we all are. We're all people at the bank, post office and supermarket. Struggling to survive, but doing the best we can.
