We could of kept Samuela, but he wanted Latu to be part of the deal. Tiger's willing to pay 1m for both of them, but we weren't. Let's face it, after the Manase debacle the Fainu's have been a poison chalice, just wasn't meant to be. Seriously, we are better of without them.

Bennett is the best man manager in league, with an amazing record for getting the best out of "troubled" or "enigmatic" players. If anyone can unlock Schu it is him. For the record I consider Des about the second best, with a real ability to construct deep relationships. So if Schu and Shouffsh don't work out I don't write off Gold Coast and Schu.

Hard to see that happening though, and unfortunately his limited mobility probably rules him out of a strong NRL career in any other position.

My understanding is he was visiting Japan to explore the sumo wrestling option.

He is already halfway there on the body type front. Plus as an NRL player, he has obviously had some experience with wrestling.

We saw glimpses of this in 2021, since then,... Nothing. Bennett picked him up at bargain price so not a lot to loose.

The Schu skill level and x factor is something not all players are blessed with

From memory I recall an interesting interview with Goggins on a Rogan podcast (I think). It gave quite a bit of his background story, which was interesting (part scary, part inspiring). I think you would find some of his stuff resonates with yourself, Bozo. 👍
