Davey is my starting backrower with Olakau-atu every day of the week. Both giants, hard running and tough as nails. To be honest with the lack of talent in the blues side in the backrow I could honestly see both getting a gig for the Blues this year.
Think Davey's age will prevent that but gee I can't wait to see him get out there and rip in. I really have a soft spot and admiration for him and his journey so far.

The highlights are from 6 or more years ago and you expect him to still have the same explosiveness now?
He takes on the line but shows no awareness in those highlights of using or linking with the players around him, just an individual having a dart.
Looks good in a highlights package though if you are trying to convince someone.....
Don't know if it is logic telling you as you then say that you hope Croker proves you wrong ...
My thoughts to SJ, good for a dart out of dummy half, late in each half and close to the line, very effective in his earlier yrs. Sharks used him a lot on these type of plays, but as the years pass the quick darts become telegraphed and just become a wasted tackle in the end. Happy for Seggy to prove me wrong though.

I don't get comparing players like Croker & Seggie when we need two specialist hookers in the playing group. Croker deserves to start and will but its up to Seggie to impress and earn his elevation selection (if it happens) and injury may play a part in that. Schuster is an incredibly creative player and will be missed. His attack is dulled when Walker comes on because he takes a lot of the ball. We have always done well with one creative backrower and a powerful hole running second rower as his partner. Players like Reilly and Glen Stewart come to mind as clever ball playing second rowers. Selections are all about balance as well as ability. With injuries come opportunities and I'm looking forward to the trials to see who gets a run but I hope Des picks a competitive side so we don't have a repeat of last years trial against the Tigers when we got flogged by 50. Its hard to impress when you are standing behind your own try line watching conversations. Also our poor trial performances led to form carried into the first four rounds of the competition.

Maybe Ben Turbo can put in a decent claim to a back row position , his upper limit should be within reach now and to show he is up to a more intense N R L level . Even a good chance again that Bullemor could be primed to step up right away as a more then capable back rower . Davey deserved his shot last season and naturally would be intent to go on with it this season . Trial form to determine a lot no doubt , a slightly different mode of ruck play with Shu out for a while and maybe Lawton could still be given i st dibs there to replace Shu in the short term

Just an update on Josh, he just posted a photo coming out of surgery on his socials, so you’d expect as suggested it will be around that 4 weeks of the season off following recovery.
It's now gone from 6 wks to 4 wks, who knows could be 3 wks, the news only gets better.

If Ben Turbo can take the stamina, competitiveness from Jake and leg speed from Tommy and add some of his own magic, that would truly be a sight tonsee.

Good luck to Ben . I hope he excels and earns his spot in the top team
Would be great to have 3 Manly blood brothers playing a winning role towards our 2022 premiership campaign as 2nd best is Not a Manly thing !

Would not be surprised to see him start at lock. Similar to Isaah Yeo. Jake to 2nd row where he belongs. Similar to the great Glenn Stewart. Now there is an interesting forward pack to tack the "Big 3".
Jake on a edge?

Sorry but I personally don't see that at all.

Jake is a middle forward through and through IMO

I'm love hearing different opinions.

But seeing Davey getting a Blues gig this year.......I will politely say that is one of the more......interesting comments we have had on this board.

I personally dont see him in our 17 round one and think he will be depth but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong.
