Very sad for Schuster however we are going to see one or two players drop out through injury every couple of weeks, given the intensity of NRL now. A mate of mine who is involved with the NRL described the centre field tackling as to be running full pace for 10m into a fridge... Ouch!

Leg injuries are one of the major issues for players and it can be so random how it happens.

Schuster will come back however, he'll need some mental support about how the injury happened to provide confidence.

Segeyaro has played 9 all his career and is on the downside.
Croker has only played 2 full seasons of NRL and was a specialist half all his life.
Croker made a large improvement from year 1 to year 2,but logic tells you he has peaked and can't improve in his third year of playing as a 9?
He's just a "if all sh-t' happens' possible replacement

I think its Troy Dargan...

2019

Dargan made his international debut for the Cook Islands against South Africa in a 2021 Rugby League World Cup qualification match.[2] He scored a try in that match as the Cook Islands won 66–6.[3] He also scored two tries in his second match against the United States as the Cook Islands won 38–16.[4]

2020

Dargan made his debut in round 3 of the 2020 NRL season for South Sydney in their 28–12 loss against the Sydney Roosters following the resumption of the sport due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5]

2021

Dargan made no appearances for South Sydney in the 2021 NRL season. On 8 October, Dargan was released by the South Sydney club.[6]
Thanks BR, hadn’t heard of him.

The name reminded me of local junior, Dragan Durdevic, who played a few 1st grade games in the late 90’s. His claim to fame was a try where he made a line break running backwards through the defence!

Segy had played 9 all his career and here are the highlights of him in the beginning of his career and at 22years of age playing for Penrith

I dont see the natural speed and flair and dynamic play in croker . These highlights prove this

Logic tells me and the fact is that all players have a potential limit and Croker has reached his .

I hope Croker proves me wrong for the sake of our 2022 success

And I was worried about Foz cutting the mustard with injuries. Just proves that I know jack sheite about footy.

Bozo I love how you have gone to the trouble to get these clips ,and I like the idea of us getting a player of his ability on a cheap and cheerful deal, but alot of those clips are nearly or maybe over 10 years old ,the baby in a bonnett aka Jamie Soward is in one of them as is "3rd man in Thaiday " and the most laterally challenged foward ever in Michael Weyman ,I know Seggie hasnt had alot of match time lately I just hope he is up to standard even for BWSE .Anyway I guess we will see soon enough .
The clips are the only ones I could find and we do get to get an Idea of a players ability and skills

The bottom line is we need to step up a gear this year and I am looking forward for us to rise once again as the greatest team the world has ever seen

The highlights are from 6 or more years ago and you expect him to still have the same explosiveness now?
He takes on the line but shows no awareness in those highlights of using or linking with the players around him, just an individual having a dart.
Looks good in a highlights package though if you are trying to convince someone.....
Don't know if it is logic telling you as you then say that you hope Croker proves you wrong ...

I like the signing, particularly as it is Workers and not a NRL contract, just trying to understand the logic that Croker has peaked ....

There is no logic ..... Croker at 25 has more upside as a hooker than Segeyaro has at 31. Segeyaro has definitely peaked, while Croker could potentially surprise everyone again this season, with improvements to his attacking game. I do think Segeyaro is a very good depth signing for Manly, and hope he has a great year at Workers.

Would not be surprised to see him start at lock. Similar to Isaah Yeo. Jake to 2nd row where he belongs. Similar to the great Glenn Stewart. Now there is an interesting forward pack to tack the "Big 3".
I just love Davey's tough as nails approach. I don't know if he has the talent after the op to win a spot in the starting side or even on the bench. But gee in a very poor side in that game last year he was a stand out and his grit, determination and tough as teak approach is something besides Jake we just don't have

I understand he is coming along very nicely. Lets see how he goes in the trials.

This is all rather academic as is already the case injuries and depth will be important this year and will play a big part on who plays where. We need to think outside of the top 17 and think about our top 30. We have good depth and real talent within.

I know the highlights are are 6 year or more but at age 22 Segy was a more dynamic and potent player than Croker at 25

Segys two year out of the game has his body fresh from injury and also his mind is back to what he does best and that is he is focused on footy redemption .
Based of his overall more natural ability than Croker I believe he can offer more to our team

As I said before . All players have a limit potential Des has done a great job getting Croker to play above his weight and his potential

Logic tells me if you think Croker is all of a sudden going to be a gun hooker next season than one of us is going to be wrong and for the sake of our club my ego comes second and I hope Croker proves me wrong as I believe he has reached his potential based on his ability that he has shown .
