Schu is one of our future stars that we must keep.
Schuster should be ready by round 18 fitness wise ( another 10 rounds ) and will open up so many gaps for his team mates to attack .When we have our top 17 on the paddock , they will be awesome to watch .We should also have our defense humming by then .Fair chance Schu will be Manly 5/8 next year and Foz will be off elsewhere, or maybe retired. But despite his great talent I wouldn't be at all surprised if Schu doesn't "take us to the next level" in the short term.
He will need to improve in a few areas even to match what Foran is producing currently, let alone surpass that and get us to a new level.
I recall the Great Clifford certainly took a few years to reach the heights, he always had the brilliance but many errors too in his early years, and I see some of that in Schu's game so far.
What is it with you blokes constantly giving away your left ones? Who on earth do you think would take a bet where that's what you win?
It wasn't necessary for Schuster to put on weight to handle back row, was large enough from the get go to handle backrow. If anything adding size will increase his chances of injury due to poor tackling technique when fatigued and reduced mobility to evade big contact with light footedness.I’d bet my left one that he’s been on a diet to increase his weight to handle the back row. This would have started last preseason.
That said, I’m sure the time off with injury adds to some extra beef but I have little doubt that if Manly want to transition him to 5/8th that he’ll go on to a leaner diet to bring him back down in weight to earlier years.
He wouldn't be picked in 1st grade if he was flippantly putting on extra Kgs with all hours visits to KFC like some previous squad members did. They all have KPIs to stick to, they all have specific to each player dietary regims to adhere to and they are all monitored constantly.Disagree.
First season of first grade against men. With a boys body.
Being big doesn’t mean you can immediately play in the forwards week in week out. Otherwise Saab would play front row.
Club would have had him on weight KPIs (along with a host of others) and I have no doubt he achieved them.
If you are trying to imply that he flippantly gained weight against the clubs wishes - I disagree with you - and that was my point.
Could be out now along with koulaHAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY JOSH!!! 🥳🥳
Go and kill them on Saturday and set your bro Benny T up for a try. 👍
Directly replying to this "I’d bet my left one that he’s been on a diet to increase his weight to handle the back row." which is all about weight increased from diet alone to handle the riggers of the forwards.Disagree.

True, but aside from that we are looking pretty good. This club is wasting time and going backwards in so many areas of the make up of our squad to really advance us to another level it's beyond funny.
1)Not addressing the technical issues with DCE's game
2)The waiting on Fainu
3)Losing Walker(Josh should be taking this role but not as an interchange player in the long term with Jake off the bench on a reduced salary)
4)Jakes roll in the team and impact on the cap
5)Outside backs lack quality but this is starting to change
6)Forwards with thrust along with poor defensively
7)Our go forward structures lack consistent effectiveness putting us on the backfoot too often
8) Over reliance on Tom and the injuries as expected keep popping up so we have to be better in an all round perspective.
9)Manly lack a sharpish roaving mobile back rower playing long minutes with a high workrate like Watmough,Cam Murray,Victor Radley or Liam Martin averaging around 100mtrs.
10)Movement off the ball in attack, go forward sets and defence is not good enough.
Just out if interest ....... is it just left ones that you don't like? What if he offered you his right one? Or is just blokes betting their nuts that you don't like? What is it with you blokes constantly giving away your left ones? Who on earth do you think would take a bet where that's what you win?
Offer another bet though and I'll take you on. Big framed kid who will never be slim. And if he stops exercising after footy he'll be ginormous.
If he's going to play 6 he'll be a very big 6. Not that Des hasn't been there before.
Maybe he is a collector and needs a lefty for the set. Or possibly building a frankenforward who just needs to feel whole. Possibly struck a deal with the devil that went wrong due to mumblingJust out if interest ....... is it just left ones that you don't like? What if he offered you his right one? Sounds like Schuster is going to be a injury prone player. His only been back for 1 game and again injuries the calf again.Out with calf injury. FFS when are we going to get a break.
How long this time, it's never a one or two weeker. Oh well, he's had his cameo last game.. ffs.Sounds like Schuster is going to be a injury prone player. His only been back for 1 game and again injuries the calf again.
Here I am. This guy is a useless injury prone idiot. There you have it !Ah crap that sucks.
And here come those to bag a player for getting injured...

Sure, I also dont think its outrageous to accept that first game back after a disrupted pre season and lower leg injury is not going to be peak physical fitness.I don't think it's outrageous to suggest he presents as a professional sportsperson, it is obvious he could shed a few kilos especially if he and his manager see him as a 5/8.
