DCE sets the example for the younger players on how to look after yourself as a professional athlete but it’s hard to tell that to 21 year olds. What DCE’s durability also does is debunk the theory the surface at Brookvale was questionable and injury laden given there wouldn’t be many players that have played more games on the hallowed turfWhen you work out how much some injury-prone footballers get paid on a per match basis you start to realise that the never-injured DCE is pretty good value.
Wait, is he injured AGAIN? Is there anything official about this? What a ****ing joke. Glad his manager has agitated for him to demand a 5/8 spot.
He's cost us Foran , then never ever plays.
Great.
AgreeHow has Schuster cost us Foran? Another idiotic comment.
The Manly club control the roster and how the $$ is spent.
Foran’s fate was sealed when Manly signed DCE for 24 and 25 a couple of weeks ago. Manly made their choice.

There's a difference between fitness and weight, though they certainly can effect each other. Of course, given the circumstances you outlined he will need time to gain match fitness. That will come with playing week in week out. However, that is no reason to be carrying extra weight (and only assuming the scenario that it wasn't by design). I'm not a professional sports person, but I can keep in shape and modify my weight by eating the right diet. That said, I have no idea what the team plan is for his fitness and size, nor do I know how well Shu executes that plan.Sure, I also dont think its outrageous to accept that first game back after a disrupted pre season and lower leg injury is not going to be peak physical fitness.
You can do all the rowing etc you like but nothing substitutes for running.
Few back to back games and those couple of kilos would have come straight off
Maybe Des took all the blood out of itIIRC he did his calf last year and was out for ages.
His return kept getting delayed.
Let's hope it's not a chronic thing.

He's always been fine with us. How he fares in other teams injury wise doesn't bother me. In fact, particularly against us, I always preferred he didn't play given his quality. Can't and won't are two different things.
Both for money and a multi year deal.
Also funny how quickly fans turn with injuries, Foran himself was often derided as a tampon or crock now he is having a run.
Sure, if you think the official quotes and demands by Schuster's management are a lie.
He's signed with the Titans on reportedly 750k over two seasons ($375k per year).
If you think Manly can't afford that in their cap, you're a moron - and probably need to look in the mirror about idiotic comments.
Foran is not being re-signed to accommodate Schuster. That's ALSO why we signed Tuilagi.
So yes, Schuster has cost us Foran (no matter what side you look at it), and Foran is giving us MUCH better value for money at present.
Longer term might be another story, given potential. But given his health and weight, I'm unsure how sustainable that is.
Just quickly, you know Foran / Schuster both play the same side.of the field NOW? So how will Schuster's game change by swapping a 12 jersey to 6? He'll be in the same spot in the field relatively. He'll still be a ball player (as he is now). But we still can't win against any top 4 teams. You continue to do the same thing, you will get the same results.
Move on from Foran.

I'm sorry, I don't logistically see the change happening here, apart from losing quality depth.
We have Tuilagi coming in, and I don't know what that will add. I DO know (Olakau'atu, Tuilagi, J. Trbojevic) will be one of the slowest backrows in the NRL (but very, very powerful and skilled on the flipper), but we've slowed down in the halves (given Foran's speed, intensity and direct play.
