Everyone knows and even Foz himself that his best football is and always is at Manly. He failed at parra, dogs and warriors. Only Des knows how to unlock the skill in him and he's having another bumper season. If it's just for money to set himself up after footy the club should give him the option to be a mentor and pay him like what the bunnies did with GI. I think that scam was not included in the salary cap.

Is it possible that this has all been orchestrated by Manly to benefit the club & Foz?

Get news out that Foran wants to go around again but Manly will struggle to keep him under their cap.

See what clubs bite & what offers they make, play hardball with any that do to drive up their offer then let Foran sign with them with Manly's blessing.

Foran gets to finish his career on a big contract, Schuster gets to play 5/8th, everybody's happy.

Get Foz back in a coaching capacity when he retires.

Until reading this, I was coming here to vent about the fact that if this roster is cap strapped, given the talent, cap going up, DCE taking heaps less, losing Walker, signing no-one, we are ****ed.

I will add this was written by Pete Badel who is even less reliable than Bulldog ritchie so take it with a grain of salt. Unless we have told him thanks but nothing for next season time to trust our future.stars.

Cannot have the likes of Schuster (who clearly wants to play 6) and Humphries,Fainu and Weekes not getting a shot or they will up and leave.
They are all untried nobodies who we all hope will make it. Hundreds of them come through the grade each year and disappear never to be seen. Foz is proven. It’s not about choosing this player over that player but about creating systems of respect, apprenticeship and growth.

Let me iterate…. Pay your dues to those who have come before you and succeeded. Learn and grow into the role. Respect.

You forgot losing Taupau's $800K as well. We are f****d.

He needs to retire at Manly, end of story.

I don’t give two ****s about what Schuster might become.

Tomorrow never comes.

Foran is a Manly legend and has found his best form again. Until he shows signs of struggling, we should keep paying him and playing him.
I’m as excited as the next Manly fan abt Shu’s potential… but no way in hell would I throw Foz away to accommodate Shu at 5/8 after his manager (and possibly Shu) tried a hissy fit. Foz is making up karma now for his early $hit. If Shu wants to chase the dollar and status then good luck and all the best… we’ll welcome him back when he’s ready to deal with karma (aka bitch)

We do have an abundance of reserve grade depth. Less of that and more first grade quality is key. I'm still not confident about Bullemor. He's what I'd call depth.

If you look at most other teams, they have first grade talent sprinkled through their reserve grade team. We have a bunch of very much reserve grade players (or.woukd he at other clubs), playing first grade (Harper, Parker, Croker, Bullemor among others - Taufua, Boyle etc).

Our recruitment has left a lot to be desired.

I know it's been debated to death, but no first grade specialist Hooker (I don't care the excuses why or why not either) for three years is unacceptable. This is the reason we cannot beat a top 4 team.

Koroisou, Mahoney, McInness, Hodgson, B Smith have all moved (or agreed to move) in the past 12 months. Our inactivity on the player front in this situation is deplorable.

I'd be fine with Croker filling in. Or as the utility (in the event of injury) but him as our first stringer is a joke of epic proportions.

Our forwards are too slow and lumbering. We need big, trim, mobile, explosive types. The closest we have is Olakau'atu.

Anyways, if we don't have a heap of cap space given our roster, I'm calling our recruitment team unacceptable. In fact, I KNOW they've given top 30 spots to players they 100% don't plan to play just to meet NRL guidelines. That's roster mis-management.

I have to challenge the inclusion of Parker in your list. IMO, he is FG all day every day (albeit, not the flashy kind).

Or do we all clamour a Jamal Indris?

Foz should play for Manly until his last game, then get straight into coaching/mentoring with us. Bloke like that should be part of the club's fabric for as long as possible. Legend
How farrrking obvious is it? Excuse the swearing and aggressive posturing, but it seems so blatantly obvious to me. We blew Choc and Snake and that whole generation of successful players to some extent. Let’s bloody learn and grow.

100%. Foz in particular isn't the flashy type, he's tough, astute footy mind, humble and hard-working. Been through a lot, got a real level head etc etc. Geez what a great mentor he would be for all the manly kids coming through. And I have a feeling he'd also make a real good coach too.

I would happily send my own kid to him to learn in that context.

If he goes this time good luck to him, just don’t string it out. Likely win-win for all parties, this could be his last good year, and it’s not as if he is a one club player.

Keen readers of the Kieran forum will know how angry I was when he strung manly along firstly in 2012 and then when he left, but now I am at peace with whatever happens.
