It’s funny how a group becomes tight and grows expediently with success. If we can beat Melbourne tomorrow I believe we are specials to make the Gf. If not we will have to beat Penrith in the qualifier. Either way it can be done. I but I have a feeling tomorrow night is our night.

DCE has been massively flying under the radar with all the Turbo hype. He has been absolutely brilliant on both sides of the ball since our forwards started going forward and the selections on his edge settled in. His kicking game has been amazing as well.
I agree.I think since his Origin disappointment,he’s gone to another level. This has been his best season in a long while.Just shows how well he plays when he has a steady 5/8 in the team.No coincidence his best has coincided with Forman’s return

100%

the fact he was 3rd on Daily Telegraphs Dally Ms in front of Cleary and behind turbo and walker is a testament to the quality player he is

Having Turbo doing is remarkable things takes the pressure off DCE, who until he came back was a one man show in the side, and far easier to put pressure on. Other players like Foran and Schuster help but its having Turbo for most of the season and in explosive form that gives DCE far more latitude. Add to that the work of the forwards.

Think its time to make a bold statement.......

DCE is close to the best no.7 in the comp right now..... looking at what's left in the 4 teams and its hard to split them but over the last few Months bar the melb game DCE has been right in it up to his long arse neck.....

They say the cream rises to the top and look at the 4. Dce, Cleary, Reynolds and Hughes. Best 4 no.7's without a doubt.

If he can get us past SS this weekend the DCE moaning and batching should be banned. The guy is one of our best ever no 7's and a great role model for the game.

DCE would be the best player in the game if he handled adversity better. He tends to overplay his hand when things aren't going our way and it makes things worse rather than better.

There's nobody else in the comp I'd want taking the shot at field goal with a match on the line though.

Its always been the issue for DCE that when he is the only play maker, he is targeted. This causes him to rush his play. Look what happened to Turbo when he was targeted by the Storm. The one player who makes a difference for DCE is Turbo because he is the main other strike weapon in the side. If Turbo is on, DCE has room to play his game. Its not Foran or Schuster or any other player as was seen at the beginning of this year. Its having another strike weapon just as Thurston had Bowen, Cronk had Slater at the Storm and Tedesco at Sydney City, Moses has Gutherson and even Cleary has increasingly talented Edwards. They all need players who spark the attack and give the half room to move. DCE is no different. Without Turbo, he struggles because he is the main play maker.

I feel sorry for him at times. up until 2014, he was a premier no.7 and worth every penny In my opinion. a couple of ok years with a side in decline was then bookended with the arrival of the super coach that never was TBAZ.

Ive said it before i distinctly remember when TB came here his whole attacking masterplan revolved around making DCE a Thurston clone. It didn't work. It destroyed his roaming running game and with the lack of a specialist no.6 the rest is an unfortunate history.

Over the last few months I'm seeing a 2013 style DCE back and its great. Foz is great. tommy is the GOAT. we are very lucky.

who here wants:

Moses
Brooks
Ash Taylor
Milford
the list goes on.

I'd back Des to use Mitchell Moses pretty well, nobody else on that list would appeal to me though.

Nice from Mal and good rhetoric.....but Cleary will be the Oz number 7

I think Cleary is a lock but with Teddy, Tom and Latrell out the back there is less need for a running 5/8 which makes room for DCE as well. Gives us the 2 best kickers and 2 of the best support players in the game. Other options would be Munster Walker and possibly Luai but I'd prefer Cleary and Chez.

I don't think I have seen a more dominant kicking game by a single player since Joey Johns played. DCE was on fire and kicking at will. He tried every kick in the book (except the chip and chase) and nailed every one. It was interesting in the post match he commented on the "good go forward" up the middle which layed the platform. No coincidence with Aloai back.
