At the moment top 3 halves
Cleary
Hughes
Sam walker

Dce isnt close to these guys

Only guy to replace him would be Reynolds but the chips wont fall that way and Cherry is Manly and can be better than Reynolds
Yeah, I was confused by the second best tag as well...Wow! Reynolds is also a level above him.

Yep. Inglis back playing in the UK and Sam Burgess talking about a comeback next year. So much for career ending health issues and injuries. What a rort.
Agreed, when players/clubs apply for medical retirement it should be made very clear that they will never again have a contract registered in the NRL.

At post#7 trillion - his current contract is until the end of the 2023 season C&C.

Inglis was not 'medically retired', he simply had enough and retired in the conventional sense. I have no problem with Inglis coming back out of retirement, but Burgess is an altogether different story.

This. Perhaps DCE has said, I'll reduce the final two years by 400k if you give me another two. It's certainly possible.
He is a greedy mercenary and won't accept anything less than what he is currently on Especially with a new Brisbane team going to push up salaries

The media circus has once again been orchestrated by him and his manager

What evidence do you have to back up such a claim? Or is this just your opinion?

I know, did I say somewhere it wasn't ? If I did it was a typo.

Amazing how the knives come out after a loss. Keep on sharpening them. Time will tell if DCE takes a pay cut or not. Either way he is not injured allot like some of our other Stars and some being so called Stars. He is the incumbent Australian Half back and State of origin winning Captain. It might be time to repay the club only time will tell.

We pay a few players too much

Dce Should be on 800k
Jake Should be on 650k
Marty 800k? Should be on 550k
Afb 850k? Should of been on 600k
I agree with those figures. But blame the club, they bowled over to the player managers.
I like the stance that Parra has taken on Nathan Brown. Now they’ve got him by the balls and if he wants to stay he needs to stay for less than they offered in the first place.

If this were the Roosters they’d all be on $200k-$400k and be absolutely happy with it. That’s because they are better at managing the cap.

I’m not sure why, but players seem to stop caring about money when they move to the eastern suburbs. It must be the low house prices and affordable lifestyle.

His media interview yesterday indeed appeared genuine. There was no rhetoric that suggested he was pushing for an extension.

It seems he was concerned by all the external noise that Manly we're shopping him around.

If Manly do extend him, I'm pretty sure it will be done in a manner whereby they can backend part of his current salary.

A win, win situation.

Should sign a contract, that they will never attempt to sign a contract with any league, although that possibly would conflict with trade practices act. Medical retirement means the end, or penalties apply.
