The boring non-Manly Final series 2018

The 10m last night was disgraceful but the Storm did have a couple of harsh calls go against them (which I was cheering about!)
Preferable to the nit-picking refereeing we've seen all year. Give all defensive sides a bit more latitude and you get a great game aka Rugby League before Super League.

I was being generous lol. I dare say if the game had been at Mt. Smart it would have drawn close to capacity which is around 30,000.

Damn, looks like there is less than 30,000 at Allianz. I'm starting to wonder whether the NRL can draw a straight line, let alone a crowd. Good thing Brisbane got a home Final hey.....😵
Last week's refereeing performance Melbourne v Penrith might've scared spectators away.

Two crusher tackles left unpenalised, one so-called head high tackle leads to a try, another so-called knock-on against Sharks leads to a try. He gives Sharks a penalty when they are on the attack and by the time they get the ball 45 seconds at least have elapsed and Rooster’s line is set and Moylan drops ball against a side that could have easily been called off-side. It’s nice to see the Rorters … I mean Roosters getting the “rub of the green” yet again. Yes, Sharks blew some chances, but clearly the better side.
When I saw those crusher tackles I was thinking, the Roosters are employing Scum tactics as they're certainly resembling them 😱

Weren't put on report either :swear: Yes the Roosters got the 'rub of the green', again :wait:

Cronks bought his bag of Bellyache and Scam wrestle mania tactics with him.Uncle Nick getting his monies worth.

Great to see the refs doing their job in the same consistent manner for the finals games, as compared to the regular season. @:D

I'm guessing the crackdown doesn't apply to finals games, unless Checcin is the ref.

Like him or loathe him, he has been the only one to be consistent all year.

The (lack of) refereeing in Storm/Souths was laughable and certainly played into Storm's hands. How predictable.

That game reminded me a little of our semifinal against the Chooks in 2013, not the amount of points, but a desperately close match won by the slimmest of margins. They both looked at a higher level than the other games so far, and wouldn't surprise to see them again in the GF.

Unfortunately the tougher run now will work against the Rabbits, so Storm are sitting pretty for back-to-back. Which will be sickening.

Warriors gone so my preference now is Penny Panthers. A gloating Gould would be the lesser of 6 evils.

Boring as. Games going according to ladder position. Predictable slanted ref toward the privileged teams. Goons no chance today. I just can't be bothered watching anymore. It's just WWF.

With the Storm having a week's rest and getting back some more top players I think they are the favourites to win the comp.
I'm not a Storm fan, in fact I don't like any of the teams in the finals, but I admire their resilience, discipline and ability to cultivate new players.
I wish we had their coaching structure.

Two key factors. Smith (the referees coach) and Bellamy. Smith can't be too far off retiring. The storm can win without slater and cronk but when Smith is out their record is different.
Bellamy is an incredible coach and builds a winning mentality. It's a pity it's built on manipulating the rules which could also be considered cheating.
There's such an arrogance about the Storm. I can't stand them and can't wait for them to miss a finals series. Will be funny.

One of the highlights of the year.:giggle:

None of the results I've wanted have happened this week.🙁 I can't see this happening either but please, please, please St Merge, don't choke and beat the donkeys.

Or their wrestling coach

I'm watching merge v donkeys on Foxtel Now, maybe I've had too many scotches but has anyone else got the bubble on the lower right of your TV screens.

PS There is no such thing as too many scotches.

I have no bubble...the agree is for the scotch comment.

Anyone not watching these finals games is missing some ripper footy. We were ordinary this year. Boo hoo, poor us...big feckin deal!

If you like a good game of footy...watch this game!
