I will say this about him - our worst games and best games are not that far apart (which is why our for and against is so low) and we seem to play better against the better teams

The Warriors, Dolphins and Raiders all got lucky against us ....

We should have won each of those games by 18 points...

Seibold seems to be a fair & reasonable person at post game interviews.
Perhaps the 'skill specialists' coaches on staff need to improve.

Cows position on the ladder isn’t great but they still have a quality team with 6 origin players (tied for most), when they are on I think they could beat anyone in the comp barring full strength Panthers & Storm

At least 5 clubs with arguably better rosters than Manly are nevertheless behind us on the ladder.

We got lucky against the Cowboys. We have been overdue some good luck for some time. It whats we do with it from here. IMO there will be no excuse not securing 2 compeition points on Sunday. If Seibold can't get them up for that then he shouldn't be there.

I said "arguably" lol, all a matter of opinion of course.
Yeah, pre-season Souths were highly fancied, so were Warriors after their great form last year, even 2022 GF side the Eels were rated well above Manly.
Bear in mind every Silvertail and his dog has pointed out the various shortcomings in our own squad.
Sure we've still got plenty of good players. So has almost every other team (aside from the usual suspects who are fully stacked with wall-to-wall talent and experience)

It’s the complete lack of consistency that’s been the issue under Seibold. It was nice to get an improbable win in Townsville but we are the type of team to follow that up with a stinker at home, against a Knights team that is just as weakened as we are. Even more likely to happen if we go into the game without a halfback again, over to you Seibs

In previous seasons we would have gone back into our shell after reaching a lead of 12 points & been run down & flogged, or crumbled as soon as the Cowboys equalised the score.

The determination to win is very clear to see, perhaps the execution is sometimes lacking, but the will is there.

Lol. The funny thing is, I doubt anyone (aside from Penn) thinks we have the best roster in the premiership. We don't! Yet every loss and even some of the wins are cited by some fans as conclusive proof that the coach has failed.

I also think there’s a sprinkling of stubborn pride in there too.

Predict we’ll lose because of a personal dislike of the coach then keep doubling down every time we win, instead of celebrating the win.

It makes me wonder if they’re fans of Manly or haters of the coach.

Sadly I think some are only happy if we are winning every game and by a huge margin.

One thing the 2024 season has showed is ( probably due to the refs / bunker ) any team can beat any team.

It’s been “ upset central “ for much of this year , footy tipping is a nightmare.

I think there are a few dud coaches , Trent Barrett was clueless but most are doing the best they can , with the roster they have.

If you added James Fisher Harris & Liam Martin into the Manly side we’d be world beaters , even with “ Seidud”
