State of Origin [Game II, 2021]

Daly created any chances they had, but the Qld backs were woeful and could not convert the chances.

Holmes is a nothing fullback, and threw the intercept.

Daly tackled better than most of his forwards, and the grubber for Feldt was perfect.

There were no hole runners for DCE either.
Holmes also kicked the ball dead in goal on the 3rd or 4th tackle at one point too.

I bet he doesn't have the guts to say that to his face.

Obviously in his eyes DCE was supposed to carry other players of the 17 who didn't put in.
In a way I hope QLD do drop DCE.
DCE will come out white hot for Manly (as he did after the 1st SOO game), won't have to spend 80 minutes getting belted by the Blues, and QLD can put up with even more points being put on them next game - which will happen. And who will they blame next?
Maybe win-win all around.

I'd let him off..........as he is in my Supercoach draft team and we start finals this week
Didn't even get fined, total joke and I'll be surprised he doesn't escalate to studs up now as he is obviously untouchable.

Jeez Latrine is looking chunky. Look hes a world class player
Played very well last night. And yes he is a bit paunchy, gets angry and violent on field at times and wouldn’t sing the anthem. All fair topics for discussion.

But do we really think it’s cool to refer to him as ‘Latrine’?? And for anyone in doubt, that’s a rhetorical question.
By the way this is not intending to have a go at you personally, or anyone who's used that term, its just something I've seen here at times and thought was worth raising after seeing this article

And also has the honour of 'Worst line drop out in SOO history'. A mantle previously held by the great 'Crusher' Cleal.
That was it for the Qld supporting daughter. She up and left. I’m yelling out who’s going to sit with me to enjoy this win? I barely heard the reply, but there was definitely a go F yourself, you old bastard…..there was more, but she was out in the garage by then.

Coach Green does not do justice to the Maroon job and he must be replaced .
Oh Don't you worry about that fella, The Bloodletting and Finger pointing starts in ernest today. Both DCE and Green will get the blindfold and last cigarette.

I thought DCE absolutely busted a gut trying to get a win for Qld.
As halfback yes he has to take some blame for them being a disorganised rabble in attack, but I don't subscribe to the view that it was chiefly his failing.
The rest of their spine was severely lacking.
The hooker showed why he's never been a serious contender for origin, Munster presumably wasn't quite fit, scarcely noticed in the 1st half. And Holmes showed why they wanted to get him away from fullback.
I hate to see a Manly player suffer but but he'll be better supported with the other players around him when he comes back to clubland.

THAT, was a spine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thing is for DCE, the media were scathing when he knocked back the Titan's contact. QLD player gave him a serve as well. And to return to Manly was just cream on their cake. He's not liked up there partly because of that turn around, but also he's smarter than most footballers ands speaks his mind. The Melbourne clique have been especially negative. And certain loud elements of the public go on a witch hunt, strongly incited by those on TV, radio and newsprint. Dont think for yourself, follow the leader. Trumpism

So all this carry on is emotionally based, not based on logic. Easy to forget the first SOO last year when DCE and Munster smashed NSW. But that couldnt continue with the team NSW has developed. This is not the QLD of several years ago. Its bits and pieces side. Easy to criticise one of the few top level footballers who tries to set up the play when you have a bunch of just slightly better than average first graders to support. Cant create try assists etc if there arent the players there capable of utilising. That surely was obvious when Manly had a pedestrian backline. DCE was criticised for that also.

With the right support DCE is able to weave his magic. When he's the sole play maker he's an easy target. Again that was obvious at Manly. If Cleary was in the QLD side I very much doubt if he would have been any better. Cleary is the media favourite now because he's playing in a top side in the comp and a top SOO side. He's a very good player but one player does not make a team.
qld would cheer hitler and bin laden if he had a good games, sweep there **** under the rug and demand any investigation into their affairs needs to happen after they retire

I feel sorry for DCE, I thought he had a much stronger game than Munster but of unsurprisingly the Storm and Queensland commentators just want to blame DCE.
Whilst I am really enjoyed watching Queensland getting belted the origin series was always exciting because it was such an arm wrestle.

And now the Tom and DCE shouldn't play in the 3rd dead rubber posts are about to begin ...

Latrine .. Latrine ... Latrine .. you need to get out more SER8 ...

You know what's mildly amusing... Cooper Cronk putting the boot into DCE after the match, spoken as if Cronk was ever not in a stacked Origin team with Smith, Slater, Inglis, Thurston plus peak Boyd, Gillett, Thaiday, Parker, Scott, Oates, et al.

When he did things like put a perfect grubber through for Feldt, only for him to lose it over the tryline... you could tell there was really not much more he could have done

Meanwhile it looked like Cleary was going through the motions while Tedesco, Luai, Mitchell, Tom etc did all the damage

Just read the article and was not amused to see that one of the gutless pr!cks is applying to have charges dropped on mental health grounds.

I hope he has some solid evidence to back that up.

I thought DCE was Queensland's best player. Great kicking game. Didn't stop trying. He would have had two or three try assists however his wingers and centres dropped the ball.

Kyle Feldt's no try could have been a penalty try in my opinion. Too looked like he grabbed at Feldt's arms not the ball while Feldt went to catch the ball. Just my opinion.
