State of Origin [Game II, 2021]

Gee there’s not a lot love for Chez is there! For mine he was there best, that’s not saying he had a great game, but a few small things make a big difference, his missed a 40/20 by bugger all, Felt fuked up a couple of tries off well placed kicks.
He carried the ball into the defence more than I’d seen him do in a long time, made 30 something tackles, his kicking game was ok coming out of trouble, not so good just reefing up midfield bombs for no one in attack though, Qld had nothing in attack and we’re pretty ordinary defensively as well. I don’t blame Chez, he was let down by the majority of his team, if the other 16 gave as much as he did, they let their state, their jumper and their fans down badly, they should all hang their heads in shame.

Unlike his halves partner Cunster who you wouldn’t of even known was out there until they interviewed him at halftime and he is a dog leading with his knees into Teddy, third time under the microscope for leading with the knees, 2 previous ones were fines only, his a repeat offender and will get time this time around, I hope with his priors, they give him 4-6 weeks.

Was thinking the same thing in regards to DCE giving representative footy away, Cleary the best number 7 in the game.

DCE could well be made a scapegoat for this series loss.
The problem for Qld is outside of grant and Ponga, that teams about as good as they have! Tgey need to find a Centre from somewhere to replace Capewell. Such a mismatch him on Turbo.

the mrc knees to site this toadstool..again...and the judiciary knees to sit him out for a few, because serial offenders kneed to be shown that their actions kneed to stop.

Munster has shown no signs of stopping his habit of kneeing / kicking players.

3 weeks...just for being a Munster

Fifita and Timo played about as good for Qld as they did when we played the Tits ... how did those games go again? .... their forwards are their main problem

Very happy to wrap up the series.

Qld are never out of the game (usually) until the final siren goes.

so "woohoo" for that one! I didn't think Qld would be kept to nil, but there ya go.

Also...
who'd want to score a try in origin? You bust yer gut and your reward is to have 3 to 4 100kg happy players jump right up and land on ya!
Yep, game 1 I was yelling at the tv Luai everytime turbo scores...
WATCH HIS EFING LEGS MATE

Fair enough they want to celebrate but fmd a player is going to go down the way they are going and Luai is the worst offender. Friendly fire !!

Anyway can mercy rule be enacted for game 3 I really don't want to risk injury to turbo.

Once they score, you'd think they'd could relax for a bit...but they have to practice their side-step to avoid the falling team-mates! (I wonder if that's why soccer players run away after scoring...lol, nah)

Qld back line when they drop DCE for 3rd?

Brimson/Walsh
Holmes
Pongs
Gagai
Coates/Feldt
Munster
Walker

They wont drop DCE.

Instead of blaming DCE, you just have to give credit to NSW. Look at that side, incredible strike all over the park. They have the best 3-4 players in the game currently in that back line all in career best form.

NSW played brilliant, smart attacking football and were also very good defensively. QLD were on a hiding to none, especially with their make shift team.

All the talk was on how Munster would dominant, but he is just like every other half. No forward go forward or a smart hooker, no strike in the centres or full back then halves cannot do much.

NSW were just too good

DCE has played 15 games for qld. A few from the bench

1 try, 4 try assists and 5 forced dropouts. Its hardly cries out for pick and stick
They have scored 1 try in 2 games this series and you cant drop munster. He is too freaking good.

Curt capewell has tried hard but failed in the basics of being a centre
DCE has tried hard but has failed in The basics of being a 7

Is there any differences really

His second kick last night when qld were 38 m out and he stabs the ball into touch on the 30 m line was telling. He turns to his team and there is a massive WTF moment.

Sure after about an hour he found his range with the bomb but there were plenty of half arsed versions first. The 40/20 attempt was a good kick, a bit unlucky but why didnt he go again. They needed it and his forwards would have appreciated it . Thats hiw he earns the respect

It is the forwards job to provide a platform which they did briefly and at that stage its the halfs role to step up and work off it with kicking and running. He did neither

The constant calling out DCE is a symptom of how he got the spot. He didnt beat the door down with form. He was just really the only one they have . Who else is an option ?
As soon as someone else can do the job, he will be gone because they are not huge shoes to fill.

Its why its so laughable when we talk about his manly form for people to justify his standing as being the qld half .

As a NSW fan i found myself hoping the gave it to cherry for the last tackle option. They did and Nil it was

He is a back up player and qld need leaders of an attack, not followers. He could take ben hunts spot maybe on the bench due to his brutal defence

He didnt much like being smashed last night. Maybe its why he refuses to take the ball to the line on a regular basis. Same stuff surfaced in the tigers game last year when they gave him some treatment. He is a halfback man, suck it up.

Anyway have a whip round, get something from hallmark for your buddy and remember to blame
The hooker
The forwards
The 5/8
The wingers
The coach
The consistency will pep him up

And if anyone asks how he went
He tried hard
He is the qld half

Geez i hope they pick him for game 3.

Anyway , good morning to you all, thats my opinion .

Mitchell was funny last night, runs near 100m he is blowing and absolutely stuffed looks up and oh fck ...smash.

Have to start leaving something in the tank to get away from the team mates lol
The last 20 meters he was stuck in mud. Carrying that bit of tub prob helps with his strength a bit, but he’s def lost a few yards of speed. If that was Tom or Teddy, Coates wouldn’t have got close to them. Coates had half the field to make up and nearly caught him!

My favourite part was when Billy Slater was talking about what Tommy did to save the try and how hard that is to do, you could tell that the part he was trying not to say was "I always led with the studs in that situation"

V’landy has created this new lopsided game and the blowout scores that come with it. Time will tell whether it makes the game more entertaining overall. At the moment it’s only exciting for half the crowd and then, not that exciting.
