Sipley - Impact

Really lacking match fitness - we can't carry him for too long. He needs to get up to fitness levels quick. He is super value and he does bring real energy and great yardage but he can't be a liability in defence because he is gassed.
This whole thing about "Match fitness" is over stated, yeah there is some added fitness gained in combat as you can't totally replicate the physical fatigue and pain from real high intensity contact but it's not a light n day difference.

Pre season training is hard as farrrrk, especially at Melb, that is why they come out of the blocks running on all cylinders every year without fail.(George Rose survived at Manly but at Melb he struggled in the training department---different training philosophies)

Yeah match fitness is a throwback to the non professional era when training was a few laps to warm up, a 30 min unopposed ball work session followed by half a dozen schooies at the pub.

Keppie only had 3 runs. Sipley has jumped ahead of him in my opinion! Keppie is a strong defender but is limited in go forward. Sipley is damaging and allows us to play off the back of him.
Keppie misses out for Siro when fit. Sipley stays!
To be fair, we didn't have much of the ball during Keppie's opening stint. And he did make that one good break (which he buggered up at the end…) I'd like both Toff and Keppie to stay in the side right now.

Love this guy

Looks like he really beefed up this year and hits the line hard and then plays the ball quickly.
Had two big hit-ups when he came on and the next play, we scored our first two tries. Coincidence? I think not!

The bench is awesome now - Marty, Sips, Guaca!! All impact players - as they should be. Compare this to GoJetski, Waddell etc last year.
