Aloiai Gone

Has Aloiai been approved by the NRL as medically retired yet?

This has been going on for months.

Other clubs like Melbourne, Cronulla and Roosters seem to NRL sign off in a matter of days.

Maybe Penn is waiting to find a specialist who bulk bills?

Just kidding, I think they always take along time. And so they should, otherwise it's an obvious rort.

The NRL official website has Aloiai being medically retired on the list of all Manly 2025 contracted players . I assume if it is on the official NRL website then it must have been approved? You would hardly think that they would put on the website if it was not approved.

All the best to Oshay, I thought he was harshly criticised largely due to his involvement in the rainbow jersey saga but he wasn't a bad prop, was prone to injury/suspension and had hands like feet at times but he played tough and was a good leader for some of the younger kids.

What I don't get is how the club is only announcing this now when we've all known about this for months and Josh himself announced it over a month ago, our media comms are all over the place. Moale was announced as a 2027 signing straight away but still no word on Hetherington/Wilson etc for next year. Knew nothing about Talau and a few of the other departing players until their names were shown on screen at the last game of the year. Injury news was always hard to come by during the year unless it was related to Tom. Never been a real strong area for the club but this year felt particularly worse for it

Take a look elsewhere on social media, and all of the Manly & NRL fans bashing this guy for the Pride Jersey, and for being a bigot, etc…

It’s funny, I don’t see these people bashing Koula or Olakau’atu… It’s almost like they only want an avenue through which it is acceptable to hate people.

They have the gall to call this humble guy a flog, and then completely ignore Olakau’atu repping an Allamadine affiliated clothing label. A family that bombs journalists and shoots up innocents every other week.

Yeah, that’s perfectly fine according to these people.

Undoubtedly, the same types who went to the Palestine march without knowing where it is.

Enjoy retirement Josh! You sacrificed a lot for this jersey!

Thank you Josh. A Manly player & a good one at that. Get better & hopefully stay involved in some capacity. For those that dislike him…..guess what Manly dislikes you too! Get over it!

I was about to hit agree with your post until I read this line.
What on earth are you trying to say? (and why??)
As a younger person, I tend to know a lot of people with strong progressive views. They aren’t wrong to hold these views, but many of them are guilty of preaching for things they know little about, and they aren’t consistent whatsoever.

They seemingly only engage when it’s trivial to do so; most of those I know who went to the Palestine march would not know anything about the ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh that also occurred very recently. They only engage when it’s controversial, and against a convenient scapegoat.

E.g. hating on Aloiai, but not Koula.

I must digress though, a bit too serious of a comparison to make in the rugby league forum. Still, they are the same type of person, and often the exact same person.
