Remember the NRL will say they gave the club and it's officials a chance to come clean. They didn't and they found club officials apparently making payments to players.
This isn't something found in an audit.
Probably why the fine will be bigger.

Probably to highlight the pertinent point of differentiating between the level of club official "s responsibility and at what level any alleged additional payments were or may have been approved or sanctioned . Also surely any players who received any improper payments would be equally culpable or at fault and for not reporting or disclosing it . Every thing in this matter seems or appears to be obviously associated and linked to that sordid and grubby chapter with some apparent seedy businessmen connection with a few players some time ago . Fair enough that the club as a collective body must take over all responsibility for any proven and definite indiscretions or wrong doing but until some more clear and conclusive evidence and facts are established , maybe the benefit of the doubt should be accorded to at least the majority of the club"s personal and officials , past and present .
