Other NRL games round 1

As a cricket purist I’d agree BUT it’s enormously popular with the younger fans which is who it’s aimed at.

Rugba Leeg is going down this same track.

Unfortunately yes.

To me cricket is like a game of chess. Move and counter move. T20 is like the home run derby at the Major League Baseball All Star Game.

League, the NRL version of it, has become a slogfest for the athlete.

OK for Storm......

Try 1 was legit. Munster is a fine player in every sense. If Manly had him with DCE...Origin last year showed what can happen.

Try 2 - pass to Addo-Carr on Storm 10m Def line to open up break downfield was blatantly forward - based on the Manly v Pmatta turbo pass last year that we lost the game on. Then, Pap-sonic pass infield to Olam on Bunnies 10m was fwd too by same definition. 2 Fwd passes missed in 1 set.

Try 3 - pass from Pap-sonic again to open up bunnies Def - fwd (by same definition). Then infield pass back to Paps even MORE fwd - which is EASILY seen by the horitonzal grading of the turf about 3-4m from the 10m line - you can see lighter coloured turf - pass is thrown in lighter coloured turf, caught in darker coloured turf in front of Pap-sonic - he caught it about 2m in front of where pass happened.

Try 4 - legit speed from Pap-sonic.

So Riddle me this - Manly got done twice in first half of Trial vs Tigers for a fwd pass from Dummy Half. (I haven't reviewed 2nd half in as much detail, but plan to over weekend) - and neither of those 2 passes had the same source/recipient differential when it comes to where passer/receiver had ball in this game. Will the fwd pass be as 'liberal' if a team is not a contender? Sure Melb were moving (fast) when they let their passes out, but consistency if the issue here.

I don't give a hoot about either team - but given how subjective the rulings have become with 6-agains, and the power bestowed on Refs with those same 6-again rulings, i'll be fkd if i'm not going to use games with 2 teams I don't give a flying Fk about, to judge the consistency of the refereeing - because in my mind, it has become far too obvious that a Ref has greater power to decide an outcome of a game than ever before.

If I were a Souths fan - I'd be pisssssssed right now. I actually dislike the vermin a lot, special treatment from NRL hierarchy and all with Burgess/Inglis vs Matai/Snake sitch.

Just don't expect Manly to get the same benefit of the doubt as the 'expected' top-4 the NRL wants (ie Rooters/Storm/Rabbits/Eels), and the Refs seem intent on giving the hoi-polloi the result NewsCorp has told us is forthcoming.

Watch the replay - tell me i'm dreaming....please
