Just have to hope that Koula and Aloiai are in the 17 on gameday. How Harper continues to be picked with his form since the end of last year is beyond me

It’s a shame Sipley seems to be out of favour with Des too as he should also be in there. Maybe if he starts making soft runs and stupid errors like Marty and Keppie do every week he might be a chance of sneaking back in there.
 
we are saying the same stuff as we were last year. there must be changes, how can X still be named, Des must hold players to account bla bla. it's literally ground hog day - we know, for a fact, Des will not change the squad unless a player is literally unable to play through injury or suspension. I want to be upset but I just know better at this point
 
Davey named in the backrow - no ducks and drakes there this week which is great. Aloiai will be in the side and I am guessing will be in for Keppie. I would then drop Keppie back for Lawton really but he will drop back for Bullemor I think.

I think it’s a mixture of (1) out of touch, (2) stubborn, (3) games past him, (4) ego either consciously or otherwise, (5) values ‘tried and tested’ whether good or bad over something new.

It's 2008-2011 footy both in culture and systems. This once worked. Des hasn't realised that ruck speed is paramount, and a specialist hooker is a priority for any successful club. We've scored 31 points in THREE ****ing games this season at an average of 10 ! Our attack is worse than The Tigers FFS !

There is ZERO accountability through the squad like you've alluded to as well. That's fine, if you don't have options, but we DO.

As Ennis was saying last weekend, our attack replicated The Dogs when they were trending south, and just before he was sacked. That's someone else's comments, who's played the game and coached (Canberra).

Our attitude is appalling. But why wouldn't it be? They can play like a dogs breakfast and still get picked week in, week out. We may as well give up Blacktown and re-align ourselves with the Sunny Coast Eagles.

Anyways, who am I? I'm a nobody. But jeez, Des appears as switched on at present as Morgan Harpers perm.

Agree with your first line (and the rest of it).

I just don't think it is in Harpers best interests to persist with him right now. Plus we have at least one ready made replacement.

We also have a heap of props - so anyone of them having a bad run should also be dropped.

Simple stuff. Keep the squad hungry and reward the better performances.

Looking at this as positively as possible (although I'm just as mystified at Des sticking with the same squad as everyone else) I guess Des is working on the theory that when things start to click, everything will click almost at once.

Yes we were extremely scrappy against the dogs but hidden by all our panic, dropped balls & dud 5th tackle options is the fact that we kept the dogs from crossing our line for 66 minutes despite numerous raids down our end.

Let's see if we can maintain our defence & show improvement in other areas this week.
