There’s no such thing as a sure thing in NRL anymore (outside of maybe Melbourne winning more than they lose). I think it’s a real danger game for Manly here. I base that primarily off two things...

1. The potential for a hangover after all the build up to the colossal game last week

2. desperate Eels who will be looking to stop the slide

If we lose, it will mean 4 points from Top 4 so probably kiss that goodbye. I remember 2019 and we started flying under Des before fading a little to finish the gear (albeit with Elliot at fullback). There are no guarantees on where our season will head from here at all.

Plus the crap referee decision to bin Jake for holding that Souths player in week 2 of the 2019 finals. Referee's will decide who goes to the end.

Not that I observe with an expert eye, but the times I've seen DeLuis he has looked pretty solid to me. Not fast or dynamic but makes solid hit-ups, haven't seen him rag dolled or bumped off when tackling. He's a good next man up (or at least next next next man )
He is solid but a bit of a plodder. I don't see him bending the line at all but is willing in defence.

Our only worry is the lack of prop rotation. We have nothing there at all - zero on the bench - well certainly no metres or anyone to bend the line in the middle. A huge worry which might mean we don't get on the front foot.... unless we go wide early and come back to the middle after going wide. I can see that happening for sure against the Eels with our lack of up front grunt.

The updated referee is a better result than Gee that’s for sure, Manly enjoys a 52% win rate and the big one is the slime enjoy ha ha a 38% win rate under Atkins, means nothing I know but it’s still way better than Gee

Well said I really think both points are valid. All it's going to take is us turning up with 5% less engery and desire and parra could run all over us.

I don't think we realise how much an effort last weekend took out of us.

Parra will be very desperate to win and if the game is close I think it could be a factor.

I still think our attack beats parra forwards advantage but we will soon see.

Manly by 12 is my prediction.

Parramatta’s peak performance group are working wonders!

Interesting chat with Rubiton Garrick on CH9’s 100% Footy.
He spoke about his time under Mick Cronin at the Gerringong Lions & of course, the
Tom Turbo influence. Only 5 minutes, but not bad.
Agree, it was a very good interview, including Turbo's influence and his younger days with Mick Cronin. What made it interesting was he was asked some different questions, unlike some interviews.

Strangely, I don't recall them mentioning he's currently the top NRL points scorer or that he's in line to break some scoring records for Manly...

As well as the slime being a little desperate, I also think they will want to make up for rd11, 28-6 at wankfest was a little embarrassing for them, we have beat them the last couple of times now.
It definitely won’t be an easy game though, they never are, big game for both sides really, I expect us to continue the slimes run of losses and for us to chase that top 4 spot, it’s a must win in that sense, so we will get the job done.

I believe this next game will decide our season to a large extent. If we can’t back up and beat Parra then top four is gone. To win the comp you need to be able to win against top opposition at least three times in a row. If we can’t back up after a loss to the Storm we have Buckley’s of doing anything in the finals.

This is going to be a much harder game than anyone expects.

They WILL be desperate.

Buggered if I know , but hope we win!

No doubt they’ll be desperate and up for this game. I do feel that their edge defence can be fragile, particularly with the shape our attack throws at teams.

Souths had a field day down their right edge and I feel if we’re on song there will be points there for us.

We suddenly went from a position of depth in the forwards to being short. Funny how things turn hey.

I actually don't mind Atkins. He doesn't seem to try and be favourites with players like Gerry "home town' Sutton.
