Quietly confident we win this game. Aloiai will have a blinder in the middle, and Taupau will step up as well. I also hope that Lawton gets some serious minutes off the bench in the first half, and that Walker is brought on for impact after 55/60 minutes. De Luis needs to be used properly as well. It would be nice to see Sironen play a good game as an effective part of the prop rotation. Yes this post is probably a bit optimistic. I don't care. Manly by 7. Go Manly.

This is going to be a much harder game than anyone expects.
Let me get this straight. So ... you expect it to be much harder than you expect it to be.
Okaayyy!!

I think people underestimate Dr Luis cos he looks slow but he usually makes his 10m per hit up and doesn't miss any tackles. Last game he had something like 120m in 20 minutes, not bad for a plodder! He will do his job. Marty and Aloiai will play bigger minutes and Jake can push up aswell. Not ideal missing Keppie, Sipley and Paseka all at once but I'm confident in the boys selected.

The team has such a lot of confidence, and a clear intention to go right through to October, so even if the Eels jag an early try or two we won't drop heads or play panic footy.
This is why I am confident of a win, although it will be a hard physical game no doubt.

Tubular Bells is back on the wing for Eels. A blast from the past, First game this season? Interesting.
I didn't realise he was even signed by Parra. It's a shame they didn't give Dumpster another week to prove he has no idea. Was looking forward to Foz, Shoe and Turbo running around, through and past him like the Bunnies did.

The benches are basically mirror images of one another
Walks v Fresh Prince
Law man v anti vacc arntwright
Siro v Niukora 2 big backrowers
Kurt DL v there prop who’s on debut

And with Papalii moving to prop that nullifys the key impact he’s had all year on an edge. Plus a new oldfield up against our left edge attack. I like it!

Is it just me or unless we really lay an egg in this one we should put another score on these guys.

Also on another note how good was the 360 Matt Nable narrated pre match build up. Just Tom cutting teams apart to Queens don’t stop me now!

In that article a few weeks back about teams' worst ref, Atkins only appears twice.

Storms worst ref with 'only' a winning ratio of 71% (lol - sigh), and
Brisbane's worst ref with a winning ratio of 0%

Um, today's useless stat brought to you by 'creative accounting' - third party sponsors of the storm and roosters.

On thinking about this Jake might play some middle for a while and Lawton comes on while that happens.

I've still got memories of the game at Brooky when Atkins sent AFB off for calling him a cheat, he penalised the sh!t out of us that day
Well mate I guess I should put it out there that I don’t really think much of any of current the crop of referees, the inconsistency, bad calls, the seemingly bias double standards we witness and are forced to endure weekend after weekend does my head in, it also reflects poorly on the code and it’s credibility.

We really need to be on our game this Saturday night. The forecast is for showers and its the type of game that the Whingers will want to play tight as they seek to redeem themselves. We need to be wary of an ambush after all the flack they have taken in the media this week.

We have lost half our front row so that is going to be a challenge negating what is one of their strengths.

We need to do the basics well and doing that means that Tom again can be the difference. Big test for us after such a bruising game against the Drizzle.

Can "t afford to take any remaining games lightly and sure that Des and the squad are well aware of that . Unforced errors or a higher then normal rate have really been an issue in the matches that Manly could have managed wins in the past couple of months , eg Knights , Raiders and even Storm . Good completion rates will go a long way to get the better of the Eels , think that their defence can measure up and attacking structure fairly sound , Bench will certainly have to play their role and certainly hope that Siro and De Luis can step up .Still resisting the option of including Suli , hope that those reasons are valid enough

I'm kinda surprised at how confident some are about this week's match. We talk ourselves up as if we have premiership credentials when the reality is, the best we've managed is 3 wins in a row. I think Souths deserve to be spoken of ahead of Manly. They've managed 9 in a row.
