Maybe something to reflect on .
There are somethings that are better not reflected .......
It's the lizard overlords that scare me....and that thing with the red eyes that sits on the end of the bed.......

I can empathise with the thing with the red eyes that sits on the end of the bed. I have seen that myself many times, particularly after a big night.

I desperately wanted to work a dead parrot into this thread but we've probably taken it a far as it can go now. I could have serious discussions about the Sea Eagles all day (but my wife refuses to listen anymore, hence I've popped up here) but having started watching Monty Python circa 1970, sadly for the forum readers, a lot of silly things are filtering through my fingers.

But back to Josh ..........
Monty Python and pet shops , now there an interesting correlation .

The club we all love just keeps on bringing us together and the memories we all have for those of us fortunate to have seen the best era of Manly which was the 1970s.

I have thousands of them from every away game we went to, into enemy territory and sticking together as the maroon and white heroes destroyed our foes.

Every now and then a group of us who are still in contact catch up for some lunch to rekindle those great days and share each others thoughts on the modern club. Plenty to chat about the next time we meet hehe.

I can remember a song that we sung after Roy Masters started the silvertails war and it was the perfect repost to his arrogant an bitter campaign.

You live in Fibro out in the sticks
We live the seaside in a house of bricks

You buy the holdens, Volkswagens too, we buy Mercedez, Volvos by the 2

You eat the meat pies, sausage rolls as well, we eat the oysters, you eat the shells.

You save the coins, we save the notes, you buy the dinghies, we buy the boats

SILVERTAILS, clap clap clap etc

Perfect comeback!!
The only problem is that I was one of those fibros out in the sticks that made my way as a young kid to the Hill. Always loved seeing those streamers floating in the breeze hanging from the Sheridan Stand. Luckily though, I never heard that ditty, it could've been hard for a Sea Eagles loving Westie kid. But being out on the Hill helped me develop my right foot step for footy as I dodged all those flying tinnies. Man, they were hard back then - those old steel cans. I remember one day at the cricket after the inevitable foam esky busted and the flow of full beer cans tumbled down the hill, the person in the old scoreboard kept getting the score wrong and suddenly this can flew from somewhere on the Hill and crashed into the light that would indicate the batsman on strike. "Bang" there was this puff of smoke and a mighty roar from the Hill faithful. It was very funny, if not a little scary for a kid to see. It's funny, I loved those days but now if I see someone being a boofhead in the crowd at Brookie, I don't mind if they're escorted out - but there is still that kid in me that has a bit of a chuckle. You can take the boy out of the West but ...........

Geeez, this whole thing has become so unsavoury but there sure ain't nothing sweet about it.

I look forward to the day it's a distant memory.

Not coz I don't think it's an issue that warrants discussion, just that it's become an endless back and forth like a tennis match with no tie breaker. Ok, so they can be exciting but at some point you just want it to end.

From Aloiai Insta.
The handle he references is a boxing promotion company.
Always another agenda with this bloke.

Corey Parker the idiot. Doesn’t he know that josh can still love his sister as much as anyone else without wearing a rainbow. Why does he need to wear it to prove he loves his sister. Clown
It is fair to ask how he could be so opposed to an inclusive jersey (to the point where he would not wear it etc) stating that it was against his religious beliefs and at the same time having acceptance and love for their own family member?

Strikes me as contradictory at the very least

Can't he be accepting of something / someone but not put in a position to promote it or endorse it ?

At least Parker wasn't idiotic enough to say that people choose their sexuality. That's a whole new level of dumb.
Didn't he say "choose to live that way"? I mean if we're going to pick him apart on his exact wording rather than his intent, which on face value doesn't appear to be at all hostile, lets at least get the words we're criticizing correct.

Fair go everyone. He doesn't have a professional speech writer, and he didn't read off a prompter (that we can see). I'll concede that it was a very soft interview about the matter. Everyone had a whinge that none of the 7 players said anything, and then when he does some people have a meltdown.

Whether you like it or not not everyone has the same opinion. Respect that and move on.

If you’re talking about promoting and endorsing inclusivity, that we are kind to all, surely that’s what Christianity is supposed to be about.
If you’re talking about promoting or endorsing homosexuality … here we go again … homosexuality is not a choice and thus can’t be promoted and endorsement doesn’t come into it.
