With Cust out though injury we will have to take a punt on Foran and try to nurse him through the 80 minutes. It's a big ask but we have no other seasoned first grader who can fill the role.
The Shoe is a certainty for 5/8.

Worry warts. We'll roll the Chooks in Round 1, Croker hooker, Foz starting at 5/8, Schuster off the bench, they won't know what hit them.

Lachlan Croker has not suffered a hamstring injury and will be good to go in Rd.1.

From Snakes report above, Croker will be fit... So maybe Croker and Foz share 9 and Schuster to 5/8? It really becomes a problem if we have another injury to a spine player. I said in another thread but after today its even more evident we need to add an experienced NRL hooker to our books.

New to forum long time reader, and supporter, every family member a Manly member(for Bozo).

Thoughts on hooker, I thought Birt looked good given limited time, looked fit and strong, straightened up attack, solid direct pass, and challenged the ruck. Didn’t see much on defence, however looks better than our other options.

I did not see todays trial game due to shift work and have just read comments from all the Silvertails on here

Schuster domination and a stand out performance in his only second NRL game makes you wonder just how good he can become . If only the other young players made half the contribution as what he did we would not be beaten by the biggest score line in the trials .

The dominant players that were missing in the first half were DCE , Jake , Walker , Fainu and Tom who are the Guns that fire a team up and the Glue that hold a team together so we should not feel discouraged from what our team is really capable against the Roosters in game one .

So its likely Schuster will wear 14.
Cust seems like he may not have been there anyway. Interesting to see how Des uses his rotation. How strange that we are now hoping Croker is fit to play 😉 after today's performance I think Croker will impress a few doubters on here.

Des talked about the seven players rested (which includes Olakau’atu) and said the only one of those seven not coming straight into the side is Tom. Hopefully that means Olakau’atu is in the 17.
