Hasler

SMH.......

Canterbury's Will Hopoate could become the first NRL fullback in at least a decade to go through a season without a try.

In an indication of just how ineffective Des Hasler's attack has been in much of a campaign to forget, his No.1 approaches the final three matches of the season with no tries and only the one line break in 15 games.
According to figures obtained from Champion Data, no fullback who has started 15 games or more in a season has gone without a try since 2008
Hopoate is hardly the only player at the Bulldogs to perform below expectations but his fall from grace as a genuine troublemaker for opposition defences has mirrored the steep decline of Canterbury this year.

I personally think Hoppa is playing the wrong position. He is a winger every day of the week.

- safe under the high ball
- powerful towards the try line with quality fend and reach
- high workrate (runs for huge metres each week and could help the forwards out)
- robust defender

As a fullback, he is not creative enough and is not a natural ball player. He simply needs to help the forwards make yards and use his big frame to get the ball down in the corner. A simple game for a simple footballer.

Hoppa is a shadow of his former self, never been the same after his two years handing out bibles trying to get people to believe in fake entities who live in the sky!!
Hoppa's decline is due to Hasler and not the old man in the sky.
Michael Ennis is a good example on how his form improved at the Sharks and he has been critical of Hasler's coaching style .

I disagree, Hoppa was rubbish at Parra before his reunion with ha$$ler.

never understood why someone would want multiple wives? keeping one happy is a fulltime job. imagine the nagging x 3? doesn't bear thinking about. Is their a religion that stipulates no nagging, sex on demand and quiet when the footy is on? if not there bloody well should be.

Triple your pleasure, triple your fun
Tripple the nagging.....where's my gun

Hopoate Mk.II is a strange one. He's not really a fullback and he doesn't have the speed or ball playing skill to be one of the best. He doesn't really have the speed to be a winger or a centre and his lack of ball playing skill would count against him as a centre. But while he doesn't have speed for a winger, he does have the size and strength to be a similar type to Jorge with his runs from the back. And he's fairly safe under the high ball.

Personally, if I were Des I'd actually have Brett Morris or Montoya at FB and Hopoate on the wing.
