That guy was so quick. What happened to him? Did he retire after his contract ended with manly?

He was quick for a prop but he used to always slow up before contact. If Nathan Brown had Brenton's speed it would be worth the admission fee to watch his charges alone.

From memory, he was let go by Manly and returned to the Gold Coast Titans but never played FG for them in his second stint.

He was largely ineffective towards the end of his time at Manly. There were a couple of good seasons where his leg speed was effective but I always think of his time at Manly as the beginning of the end. We had Kite and King and Gifty and Watmough and then slowly that side morphed into Lawrence, Starling, Horo, and Symonds…not so good 😞

I’m thinking we bottomed out this season and I’m hoping we will be on the way up in 2026 especially if the injury gods are on our side for a change. Hoping we have a happy and united squad. Regardless of whether some players like the coach’s methods or not they are paid to follow his lead. Let’s go Manly. Let’s hope the coach believes in young talent and brings them thru in 2026.
