Those were the days.
And they are comin back...
MAAAANNLLY MAAAANNLLY MAAAANNLLY
It would have been marketing genius for the club to release a some of those names to the media - after considering the alternatives all of Dessie's sins are forgiven.Yep that's what brought me back to Des. Jason Taylor. Just typing his name makes me nauseous.
He would be welcome...what? is Wolfy coming back?
Look, you are being silly now .... we can't afford new hinges on doors and a Centre of Excellence. Looks like we miss out on the centre of excellence again. I'd rather see Dessie taking doors off anyway. Will need to get the hinges on the brookie doors upgraded pronto if this happens. Some of the incepid toss that has gone on around the joint for the past 3 years will not be acceptable.
On Des himself if it does happen I believe he will be really on it to regain his 'legacy'. He was hailed as the messiah of coaching up until the last few years and it must sting to be in the position he's in right now.
Watch this. And try your hardest not to either;
A) Forgive the man who had KPA's inserted into his coaching performance unexpectedly and mid year, before winning the 2011 competition and then taking the club he coached the next year to the minor premiership and grand final.
B) Feel how good it is to be a manly supporter and part of a club that doesn't look outside their own. Barret and Sharp were a mistake. Lowe was okay when their was strong manly leadership.
Bring on 2019!
I'm trying to understand what time the Day Shift Dribblers are supposed to finish?
Who didn't tear up?Or tear up like me. I think it's because the song is a close approximation of the one with Nicholas Cage kicking ass in the rain which always hits an emotional note with me.
Maybe it's just Des. He left me so happy then so hurt. My emotions aren't to be trusted.
Come back. Bring that back. I need it in my life!
All posts to be like this one from here on.Daly Cherry-Evans would welcome Des Hasler re-union at Manly
Australian halfback Daly Cherry-Evans, the only survivor from Des Hasler's last stint in charge of Manly, would welcome the return of the two-time premiership-winning coach to the club.
Cherry-Evans, who has finally fulfilled the predictions after his NRL debut season under Hasler in 2011 by becoming the first-choice Kangaroos and Queensland halfback, said he was prepared to work with any coach the Sea Eagles appoint but backed Hasler to turn the club around.
"Whoever the club decides to pick I'll make sure I dive right into it and enjoy whoever it is," Cherry-Evans said. "If that is Des, we have a bit of history there. That would be exciting to link up with the person that gave me my first grade opportunity.
"Tim Sheens gave me an Aussie jersey, Mal Meninga Queensland and Dessie club. Those three coaches are people I never forgot. If I was to link up with my first ever first grade coach I'd be all for it. [But] that's not my decision, that's for the owners to worry about."
Despite Hasler walking out on the Sea Eagles after the 2011 grand final, Cherry-Evans said he still understands the club's culture better that most and would be an ideal fit for Manly.
Absolutely. There’s an old interview with Reni Maitua where he talks about playing under Des at the Bulldogs. He stresses that Des was always a Manly man. Even though he did his best to win with the dogs his heart was always with the Sea Eagles. He may not turn out to be a messiah or a super coach but he’s family and he should come home. If he does come home let’s hope he brings Brett and Glen and Choc and Steve back with him.
