Garrick

He always plays his heart out. Effort and intensity and perhaps just as important, accountability.

I still think his best position is on the wing. Although he’s certainly improved many aspects of his game, that he could cover both Centre and Fullback. Although if he was to cover fullback, the extra energy required does effect his goal kicking.

The only thing I wish he’d get out of his game, are the stutter steps. For someone his size, he should just try to accelerate and cover the ground as quickly as possible, into the defence. I’m not saying he should run directly at defenders. Obviously try to pivot at the line, to hit between the defenders then, he’d be a chance to break thru. At the moment, he turns his back and submits which often leads to a dominant tackle.

Garrick put in a huge effort last night and was our best on the park. DCE played strong. And get ready for it I thought Woods and Paseka were our best forwards in a well beaten pack. Finally Schu’s feeble effort when the Mammoth trotted past him to score was disappointing. Sure a scary tackle to make but he didn’t have a go.

Reubs had 134m today with 45m post contact, 3 tackle breaks, 2 line breaks and 2 tries including a fantastic winger’s try… also came up with a couple of good defensive reads that stopped vermin momentum…

Who would have thought his best position was on the wing? Oh wait, literally EVERYONE except Reuben and the coaches… Manly’s own Lomax…

Hopefully his last two outings have forever put to bed the nonsense idea that he is a centre.

Our right edge defense still looked awful but I think that rot was actually starting with Waddell being too slow.

I think DCE is the root cause of our dodgy right side defence he quite often rushes up leaving a gap, or moves in on a man on his inside not trusting our inside man to make the tackle

I agree with that normally but DCE already looked to be doing his best to slide right to cover huge holes when the Rabbitohs scored down that side tonight

I actually think he was improving in the centres this year but he always has and always will be a better winger. It also never made sense to me how we were essentially experimenting with him there for a year and a half when every other move we've made has been to try and win in the short term.

If and when Turbo eventually goes back to fullback, he should stay on the wing with Lehi going to the other, Saab out and Talau in the centres with Koula.

Question...could Lehi become an effective centre, both in defence and attack?
