He seems to be such an underrated player, he is the equivalent of the Alpha Romeo Guilietta - a high performance vehicle that doesn't get the acclaim it deserves (no I don't own one)

His goal kicking is top tier, rarely seems to be found out positionally - but isn't considered to be in the same league as players like To'o and Coates. Hope we keep him long term

Probably because his rate of improvement has been gradual but consistent. He refined his technique for running the ball back which probably created doubt about him long term and he had mostly the rest , just needed confidence and experience. He has graduated to a fledged first grader after having the shakes early and it kind of snuck up on us a bit

No .. it is a short way of saying that sometimes speed alone just isn't enough ... and as long as he gets handed the opportunities he will be an asset.

But like the 1st 5 rounds last year .. and the first 5 rounds this year .. if he doesn't get them he is limited in what else he offers.

His career will always be a weighing up of positives V negatives .. let's hope it is always on the side of the positives.
...was just pulling ya chain bud...

I think it's because he seems a fairly unassuming, humble & mild mannered type of bloke. You never see him lairising or carrying on like a pork chop, he seems more interested in doing his job than drawing attention to himself.

Garrick has done well at fullback. Not great but well. For the people who have been supporting from the "ends" of the field, they would notice that Garrick is a good communicator and does direct the defence. I would always plump for Garrick to be the replacement fullback.
However, for Manly to manage the opposition, the correct talent needs to be selected. It may be Garrick if the opposition is a top 4 side and have a good kick chase, it may be Koula if the opposition tend to be a bit slack and we need his skill/talent to slice through. Could even be Weekes if there is a need for that extra creative ball player.
But, as it stands today, well done Garrick.

In addition his reputation for reliability ,somewhat exceeds Alpha Romeo's

Funny how time changes things.

Most on Silvertails wanted Garrick gone 3/4's the way thru 2020.

I was thinking this is exact thing earlier today...one of the NRL’s most underrated players.

He is so reliable and so tough. Great carries out of yardage, a strong finisher, safe under the high ball, high work rate. Great competitor and sport. He’s one of our best now.

The thing I like about him, he seems to be improving and working on his game all the time. A while back he wouldn’t go for the corner and instead try to step back inside. He now pins his ears back and goes for the corner backing himself. The improved confidence has also filtered through into his goal kicking. 👍

It was good to have Garrick back today.

Good to see some passion when he verballed Schuster for the sloppy tackle that gave Wests the lead.

Weekes should be fullback against the Titans, however he needs to have a good match as it will be tempting to move Garrick back to fullback if Tommy still injured.
By then Vaega will have served his suspension and Tippy probably back from injury.

I think it would be nice to have a specialist number 1 and Jake Toby would be good as he is a good solid option for fullback to replace Tommy.

I think that Garrick and Saab were quite solid today and we need a Weekes or Johns on the bench to cover injuries.

The goalkicking won us the game today and we were fortunate to win.

Weekes is a specialist fullback isn't he?

Toby did not play any grade, so must be injured. He is not in the Top 30 anyway, Weekes is our backup fullback and should get first crack IMHO.

Garrick is a premier winger and goalkicker now. Just safe on all components of the game on both sides of the ball. Takes real onus on defence as well, gave Schuey a spray after the To'a try. Garrick is one of our leaders and more underrated players in this comp. We should be very grateful to have him and Saab.

And steadily closing in on fellow Illawarra/South Coast product Ron Rowles on the 1st grade pointscoring list. Beaver has been penalised for scoring numerous tries under the NE banner, because he should be sitting above Snake on the list:
