Story of our season, Tooves didnt deserve to go out like that, we have been avg all year, injuries, contract dramas, board dramas, media dramas, all doesn't help, we had no depth, as soon as the new coach was announced , its like the players switched a gear and gave us false hopes, then the last 2 weeks they dish out this garbage, most of this team was Tooveys choice, riding off the back of Haslers Heros, Toovey will always be a gun, doesnt mean he can coach, and doesnt mean players will adapt to him. He stated last week that these guys didnt deserve to play finals, and after tonight, he is spot on, we are better off out of the 8. Hopefully Barrett can fix this mess that we have, THis actually reminds me of the 2003 season.... difference is, we had the cattle to be a top 4 team... We need heaps of changes, we have a good backline, however its getting old and frail, we need big forwards.... Hopefully next year new manager, new slate, different structures.. Everyone atm knows how to read all the Manly plays that Hasler implemented. Bring on 2016

And you know what we will probably be in for some pain over the next few years but when we do arise from the ashes and once again become a force it will be that oh so much sweeter!!

I have seen 2 grand final wins over the past 10 year period and I know how appreciative I am off seeing them both live... the memories will last forever.

Good on you @davohan123. Yeah I have also seen the Mighty Manly Sea Eagles win two grand finals (so far) live and I will never forget either.....I am so grateful to have had that opportunity and hope it comes up again in the future.

But far out, I am hurting big time tonight........none the less...............!

Toovey stuck by guys who for most of the year have failed him miserably. Tonight we capitulated after about 15 minutes when Horsehead had his say and allowed the Rorters 2 minutes of a knock on and then back to back penalties to score their 2nd try, we never got over that when Manly teams of old would have rolled their sleeves up and made the Rorters earn it. After 1 set of the 2nd half the writing was on the wall and after that it was a surrender and that is gut wrenching for a guy who ever ever did that when he was a player.

Unfortunately I think some players late last year and this season simply did not put in each and every game and they know who they are and as a passionate fan that hurts..........!!

To the Mighty Sea Eagle boys that gave their all, thank you so much.

And to Tooves thank you so much for your passion, your hard work and for copping so much ****, **** that you did not deserve. You are the scapegoat and just because you are you, you are paying the price. But you can hold your head high, we know the truth.....you are a Manly man and will always be.

I like many others am not paid to support Manly, it is NOT a business to me it is far more than dollars and cents it is heart and passion and for the LOVE of our team.

So to the NRL, Gyng, Channel Nein, Penn's, Officials and any other corrupt, disgraceful, arrogant, egotistic half wits intent on destroying Manly, go and get stuffed.....!! The Manly spirit is still here and will never ever go away, no matter how hard you try to make it.

Go "The Mighty Manly Warringah Sea Eagles" always.......!!

Kevin Walters said on NRL360 earlier in the week that one of the things that made Wayne Bennett a successful coach was tapping senior players on the shoulder before their time was up and getting the young blokes in there.
We've seen that with hodges again this year, he was still playing well enough to go on for a few more years but "after a conversation with Wayne I've decided to retire".
Not saying this applies to all our senior group, but does have some merit. You need to be able to perform at a high standard for a whole season to have success and our blokes only managed to show their class on a handful of occasions this year.
A few of the senior guys really showed their age for a large part of the season. I know we won 5 in a row etc etc etc and the old guys fired......... But we were pathetic more times than on fire this year. Surely age as caught up with a few.......

Can't blame the forwards for everything

what made it more sad , was watching those sad duds playing like that.....THe team we had should never had got in that position.. We played like wooden spooners last night.. Even the group in 2003 we would of beaten ourselves last night...

Sad end to the year, it all finished bittersweet. Over the moon we didn't end up with the spoon. Disappointed as we could of made the finals.

I am really excited about next year, our roster does need a shake up and the last 12 months have shown we do need a culture change.
I stil don't belive Trent Barret and John Cartwright are the people for the job.
We have a good batch of exciting young players, I just wish our forward stocks were a little better

Everyone except The NRL know they are cheating the cap. It's disgusting it's treated as a joke, but accepted.

Even if they are cheating the cap the team still needs to have the desire to win and be well coached and I think there's no doubt they have that. Cheating the cap doesn't guarantee success, have a look at Parra.

What I have known from the Manly games this season is they don't have a specialised winger at the club and it proved itself last night. Jorge Taufua is strong but he moves like a back rower, Peter Hiku, Tom Trbojevic and Clinton Gutherson are all fullbacks. None of them have former Manly Junior Charlie Taylor explosive speed, who blitz manly with his length of field try last night and no one could get near him. I know the kid would love to come back to Manly and I hope the club goes out of their way to bring him home
