If they can get Guac running into a gap instead of standing flat footed and trying to palm off players to make a break, THAT would be a great improvement. He can be so much better than he has been. He and Paseka running onto the ball would be bloody good to see.

Doesn't help that the halfback next to him crabs across field and runs him out of space. If the new coaches can get DCE to take the ball into the line (like Foz) that would open up so much space for what could be the most dangerous edge in the comp in Haumole, Koula & Saab.

The other side flowed much better this year with less talented players in Parker/Harper & Davey. Have a look at the halves inside them and you will work out why

Jesus @Woodsie did you buy some tablets or a packet of powder from our @BOZO ?! 🤣

Someone is playing the shy debutant.....

Manly are set to offer Anthony Seibold a three-year deal to replace Des Hasler, but Shane Flanagan revealed he hasn’t spoken to the club despite reports he’ll join as an assistant.

Flanagan rubbished a report that he has ‘agreed to terms’ on a deal with the Sea Eagles, emphasising he hasn’t spoken to the club let alone seen a contract.

Attempting not to breach the conditions of his current contract would be my guess.

If he is being signed at all, it should be as the head coach, rather than that complete flop Seobold.

The only reason he is coming to manly (if he is even coming ) is that no other club has offered him a role due to sponsorship concerns with his brand.

Surely manly is the last club any prospective coach or assistant coach would choose.

For the sake of the team, Schuster needs to be on Koula's side as much as possible.

For those of you wondering what talent Flanagan might bring with him, besides a firm grasp of modern pharmaceuticals, try to remember that he last coached the Sharks five years ago. Five years is an eternity in rugby league. Half of their current roster probably don't even know who he is.

NRL 2022: Manly’s pursuit of Shane Flanagan turns nasty with friends urging him to turn down deal

A feud is brewing over Manly’s pursuit of Shane Flanagan, with management angry after Anthony Seibold bypassed them to speak directly to the former Cronulla coach.

World cup welcome distraction for Manly cohort

NRL: Sea Eagles players in the Kangaroos squad are enjoying the World Cup focus away from the club dramas at home.

NRL premiership-winning coach Shane Flanagan is being hunted by Manly to become an assistant coach – but the offer is causing anger, distrust and complications.
Flanagan’s management team know the former Sharks premiership-winning coach has solid employment at St George Illawarra as a roster management consultant, Fox Sports, where he commentates on NRL games, and 2GB’s Continuous Call team.
Friends have questioned whether Flanagan’s salary at Manly could go close to matching his current income and are recommending Flanagan rejects Manly’s offer.
Flanagan would also have to commute between the Sutherland Shire and the northern beaches at least four times a week.
Remaining as an assistant under incoming coach Anthony Seibold for a further three years could also hurt Flanagan’s chances to again become a head coach, his management team say.
Seibold has essentially taken over recruitment of his football and coaching staff for next season.

The Daily Telegraph understands Seibold has bypassed Flanagan’s management by speaking directly to the former Cronulla coach.
It is a move which has angered Flanagan’s management. Sea Eagles CEO Tony Mestrov has spoken to Flanagan’s manager once but not directly to Flanagan.
Flanagan often seeks counsel from his former manager, Wayne Beavis, the pair remaining close friends. Beavis is aware of what is unfolding.

No offer has been made to Flanagan’s manager but the deal is progressing anyway.
Seibold’s management team is now helping the process given the Sea Eagles’ coach-in-waiting is working overseas, another surprise for Flanagan’s management, who have concerns over Manly’s embattled state.
Despite being in Britain helping Eddie Jones coach the English rugby union side, Seibold is working the phones to nail down his coaching staff.
Like previous coach Des Hasler, Seibold will be given an amount of money from which he pays and distributes to his coaching staff.
There were suggestions Flanagan had a clause in his Dragons contract stating he could only leave early to become an NRL head coach, not an assistant.
St George Illawarra officials have denied any clause exists.

Flanagan is also in England for the World Cup helping and guiding Papua New Guinea, who suffered a late, heartbreaking 24-18 loss to Tonga in St Helens on Wednesday morning.
Former Test player Jim Dymock has also been linked to Manly as an assistant coach.
Manly has been forced to cull a chunk of its staff to make way for Seibold’s reign.
Hasler, assistants Michael Monaghan and Chad Randall, head of high performance Don Singe and sprint Rubin Ruzicka have parted company with the club in recent weeks.
Seibold isn’t due back from England until the end of November - a fortnight after Manly start off-season training.
If employed by Manly, Flanagan would take over for those opening two weeks of training and still harbours an insatiable desire to coach.
Manly is due to announce Seibold’s signing shortly, possibly this week. Dymock ended his role with Gold Coast Titans in July this year.

Sounds like Seibold is about to be sacked b4 he has even started.
Doing stuff that even Des didn't do in bypassing mgt.

Flanagan’s manager is only concerned about not getting his commission. The idea that two men in their 40s/50s (who are both clearly experienced, have been in the industry for decades and probably know each other from their work at Fox) cannot talk directly about a prospective job opportunity just sounds weird to me.

You have to laugh out aloud at that article, especially since his "friends" are worried about his earning capacity being somewhat diminished if he came across to manly coupled with the another great line that his management is upset at being "bypassed" in these discussions.

All his "friends" and his agent are doing their very best to convince people in and around the Club about his pedigree and past, but what better way to prepare all and sundry IF he turns the role down it is because of the diminished earning capacity and/or avoiding his management.

Too funny but it pays to have good friends in various parts of the media.

I am going to grab the popcorn....and continue to watch this space....

Well, @AndWeDon'tCare they need to have an alternative narrative prepared IF the offer gets pulled as well. I am not sure if the reaction to Flanagan's possible appointment passed the temperature test, at a level that the club felt was acceptable. For an outsider looking in, it's almost at the point that it would be easier for both sides to walk away. Begs the question again, who is driving this?

Rest assured @Eagles4Life there is a connection between Shane being "courted" by Manly and the sudden rise of articles pertaining to the St George Illawarra Dragons.

There is a real push to get Shane a high profile job away from the "list management consultant" title he currently has at the Dragons and that push is from his media "friends".

One way or another (cue Blondie) they are desperate to have Shane employed in a more senior role, shoving down our throats, his road to redemption.

I hope we have a roundabout on our road and he turns back towards the Dragons.
