I quite like him as a ball player, and more so as the number 14. I feel he's at first receiver slightly too much. He does look more dangerous when he runs at the line. It's just a pity next week that Cust will miss a spot as he deserves to be in the 17.

Sorry, I disagree with everyone. There is a new and highly important role in the modern game - the ball playing 14. They play 50-60 minutes and come on once the game has softened up to be creative around the middle.

The Storm do it with Brandon Smith and Harry Grant together. Tyron Peachey plays the role at the Titans. Connor Watson at the Knights.

Des has Walker playing the same role now, and I believe he’s warming into the role nicely. He creates space for the outside men by going deep into the line with the ball. His defence is also good, despite what so many people on here say - saved one try in cover defence tonight.
the problem is there for all to see, 'ball playing 14'.
not 'ball running 14 who rarely passes the ball'.

I agree as long as he doesn’t overplay his hand like he did a few times tonight.

I thought Cust and Walker on the bench together actually worked alright. Hard to know what our best 17 is now...
I can’t pick it… maybe we won’t ever have to. But tonight three of our best players, Walker, Suli, and Cust, are potentially not in the 17.

Great to see but also hard to know what to pick!

I'd have Smith and Grant a football field ahead of Walker; Conner Watson would be a long way ahead and even The Peach would be better than Walker.
I just can't see how people rate Walker; he's got more mistakes in him than the Premier of Queensland.

I agree

Was watching the game with the old man and he goes “why do we even have walker on” after that kick out on the full...

i feel this is the common fans sentiment. Ignoring all the good work he did in the middle and the different point of attack he adds.

At the moment i would be keeping him as our specialist 14 but there is competition for spots fortunately.

O RLY?

So what does Des see in Parker that you don't have eyes to see as well?
Des sees what I see in Parker and that is a player who is a capable defender and complements the team

Players like Walker and Suli have been signed by Des as he also sees what I see and that is both in form are dominant players and the more dominant backs we have playing in their positions where they excel make us a more dominant team

GOLD!

There's nothing like stubborn pride to give a person mind reading abilities.

To be honest, I actually don't mind Walker in the 14 and playing as a ball distributing lock. It gives us another point of attack.

From the looks of things Dylan has been signed for another 2 seasons. I can guarantee that it is for a lot less than what he originally came to us on, and am sure that he is playing for his life. Who else is lining up to take him?

He seems to be a likeable member of the squad, and together with his flexibility , is probably a big part of the reason why he was resigned.

For mine, unless there are serious injury troubles for Parker, Harper, or Suli, we will not see Dylan in the 3 or 4 guernsey over this period and will spend his time between bench playing the utility role or at Blacktown.

Im Pretty harsh on Walker ,
But also dont mind him in the 14.
Thought he did alright tonight ,He keeps the other team guessing and on their toes.
I feel he is the card up our sleeve in the 14.
Cant wait until we have our whole box of tricks out there at once.
There is no denying his skills BUT, I am not willing to gamble on him in big games when one of his rushes of blood turns to shlt, like his kick out on the full tonight, and it costs us heavily. He is too much of a ME player and disrupts plans and structure because he THINKS he is a hero. We have a dearth of attacking skills without him and I would feel much safer without him in the 17.

That’s like saying you wouldn’t have Schuster as well, due to poor kicking and passing options at times, we saw the best and worst of him tonight

Walkers role as stated above is a roving utility, which he performed extremely well before moving around to cover other people missing. Judge him on that role when he gets back there
